In February me and my family went to a concert with Kraftwerk. When the song "Numbers" came up, my life stopped for a second. I´ve always known a part of the lyric as:
"I am Padding,
and Sam Tackting".
Now, in the age og nineteen, I do not have to ask myself who the heck this guys are anymore, and why they´re mentioned in a song about numbers.. Because the correct lyric is:
"I´m adding,
and subtracting"...

-Great concert, by the way! ; )

I thought that at the end of the Ben Folds song "Army" he was saying "thought about your mommy" when he's really saying "thought about the army"

Ok, if you've ever seen the kid show Veggietales, you have heard the theme song. When they were singing "Gotta BE...VEGGIETALES!!!", I thought they were singing "Gotta go PEE on Veggietales!!!" I thought that was so mean!!!

i used to think the hyena's line in the lion king song "Be Prepared" was 'make love to the king' (as oppose to long live to king) My mum tried to subtly suggest that this wasn't entirely correct, but i was utterly convinced and went on singing it at the top of my voice regardless - completely unaware of the implications!!

I used to think that the chorus from the song "Stop In the Name of Love" was "Stop! in the neighborhood... before I break your heart" I was singing it at the top of my lungs one day and didn't understand why my brothers were laughing hysterically at me.. they explained of course and then laughed at me some more. Ah well.

When I was young my parents were very keen on 70's and 80's rock and "Dire Straits" were one of their favourites. They would listen to "Money for Nothing" which has a lyric "get your money for nothing, and your chicks for free".
Now, I misheard that line and on a family day out in the car to said song, I came out with; "Daddy, if I grow up to be a rock star, will I get free chips?"

when i listend bryan adams "summerof '69" the first time, i thought the lyrics was like "..... get my first real sex dream", but naturally it means "...........get my first real six-string"

I thought the first line of the national Anthem (Australian) was:
"Australian's all eat ostriches,
For we are young and free"

when watching Dirty Dancing I thugth the lyrics were: Hungry eyes. They got the flavour you cant disguise, ive got hungry eyes.

I always thought that the words to the song yellow taxi were "they paved paradise, and put up a fucking lot" I was really puzzled when I heard this on the radio and it wasn't censored, until I realized the actually words

when I was little, I thought that in TLC's song dont go chasing waterfalls, the line went "don't go Jason Waterfall".

When I was a kid my grandmother always sang the line "Ghost riders in the sky". I used to look at the sky, thinking I would actually see ghost cowboys on ghost horses, riding as if they were on the ground. Then I changed to think the Ghost Riders were the stars. To this day I still don't know the song or artist, and now, even though I'm 20, when I think of that line, I always look to the sky. I think more out of habit now, than actually looking to see them.

When I was young I used to think the line 'She wrote upon it.' in Elvis's 'Return To Sender' was actually 'She rode a pony.' I still sing the wrong line to this day (although only with happy irony) because it sounds so much like it!!

when I was about 6, my friend had barbie versions of the spice girls (we were both obsessed with them) and a bunch of ken dolls we made into the backstreet boys. we always thought that the backstreet boys dated the spice girls, like sporty spice dated nick and baby spice dated brian. (back then I was living in my little fantasy world)

I used to believe…

my friend once (I was about 6)told me that while I was out shopping with my parents, the spice girls came down our street with on a huge float while they were singing, and I actually believed her!(I was an incredibly gulible kid)

I'm pretty positive most kids who were five years of age in 1996 would've probably agreed with me that I thought Hanson was actually a girl band. They sounded like girls, looked like girls, and it was just so...girly. My mom told me they were guys and I refused to believe her. I don't remember when it all changed (maybe when I saw them on TV one time and two of them *Isaac and Taylor* had deep voices) but I still thought Zak was a girl.

My dad is a huge AC/DC fan, so I grew up listening to them...a lot. Now, Dirty Deeds is one his all time favorite songs, and I used to think that they said, "Dirty jeans and a thunder jeep," instead of, "Dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap." And I can still listen to that song and hear my version of it. Try it sometime. It's funny.

a lil boy told me the words to the Zephyer song by the Chilis was "fly away on my surf board"

I guess this can be put among the make-believe-s, but couldn't actually find a proper place for it.
You know that elderly believe in so much funny stuff and they get terribly worried when you wouldn't follow their "valuable" advice.
When I was at late kindergarten age I was often told by my grany that I shouldn't sing while having a meal - the cause of that would be my getting married to a man who often gets drunk... That was making me remain silent till the end of our meal, because I didn't want to feel guilty if my husband were an alcoholic.
What a way to shut my mouth up!
