When my younger brother was little, he thought the lyrics from Maroon 5's "She will be loved" weren't "I know where you hide, alone in your car", but "I know where you hide, Bologna your car". XD

A 1980s commercial about rail travel had a song that went 'This is the age of the train' and I thought it was 'This is the edge of the train'

I am a huge Duran Duran fan. Have been since I was 6. I always particularily loved the song Save A Prayer especially since it was written for me... "You saw me standing by the wall, corner of Elaine Street..."
And when I was much older, my heart was broken when I found out that Simon Le Bon was on the corner of Main Street.

I thought the line in the song "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow" was "with nobody candy knives." I really wanted a candy knife.

The Tina Moore song that goes 'Never gonna let you go' has the line 'Worth more than a million in gold' and I firstly thought it was 'Football and a million goals'.

When I was little I thought Michael Jackson was really a tough guy. The video "Bad" had come out and I saw him dressed in leather and heard the lyrics and I actually thought people were afraid of him because he was so tough.

when i was around 4 i told my dad i want an electric guitar and he told me if you don't know how to play it you will electrocute. so everytime i saw bands or people who played electric guitars at tv i always said that they were doing playback even if they said its live. i kept thinking that until i was 11-12. i don't know why nobody told me the truth cos they knew what i was thinking cos i was telling them. but i always thought how they were learning to play guitar if they were electrocuted... i didn't figured it out yet...

My grandmother has always been terrible at understanding song lyrics. She believed that "Taking Care of Business" was, instead, "take a can biscuits." She also thought that the CCR song "Bootleg Bootleg" was koolaid koolaid. And it was not "The Girl With Kaleidoscope eyes." Nope, it was "the girl with colitis goes by."

I couldn't understand how a record got to number one in the charts and believed that the Queen chose it, my husband still makes fun of me and does impressions of the queen announcing that Show Waddy Waddy were going to be number one today!

There's a lyric in the U2 song "Bullet The Blue Sky" that goes "I can see those fighter planes." My dad thought it was "I can see those spider fangs."

We'll never let him live that one down.

When me and my friend were in kindergarten, we used to sing this rhyme "hey who's that it's a missippi cat M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I". Only we heard it as "M-I-S-S-I-S-S-S-P-P-I". Well, we got into a whole fight about it with our dads, until around three months ago- I'm fourteen now- that our dads were right. I still won't admit it, though...

My son thought the words "Paparazzi" in the Lady Gaga song were actually "Papa Rahtzee" and asked me why she was singing about this random man called Papa!

Blackadder does not ride a 'Pitch Black Steed' but in fact rides a 'Black Jetski'
I dunno, I was a child. I was probably too busy shoving lego up my nose to listen to the lyrics correctly.

When I was about 7 or 8 (in the early 1990s), I was riding with my uncle in his car. He had some music playing, and when I asked him who it was he said, "Alice in Chains." Apparently I must not have noticed that a man was singing, because I answered, "Oh, I've never heard of her before!"

I used to believe…

When I was little my dad often played a tape in his car with the song "More than a Woman". I always thought it was "four legged woman" and sung along that way.

I used to think that in the song "Everytime you go away" by Paul Young that he was singing..."Everytime you go away you take a piece of MEAT with you". Just the thought of a man packing a suitcase with a big fat porterhouse steak is enough to crack me up now that I know the actual lyrics!

I thought playing "air guitar" was a real instrument. I couldn't quite picture what it looked like but I imagined it was like an accordion or maybe an organ, with tubes that pushed the air through. I didn't find out what it really was until I was about sixteen!
