I used to believe…

That song "another saturday night and I ain't got nobody, I got some money cause I just got laid" My daughter heard me singing away and exclaimed "I just got paid MUM". She walked away shaking her head.

When I heard "my lover has got no money he has got his strong beliefs" I thought they said, "lover has got no money, he has got his trombone leased!!!"

My 3 year old daughter sings the Attomic Kitten song "The tide is high" Her way is "The tidiest house im moving on".Cant wait until her Twenty first.

I used to believe the the words to the country song "Cheap wine and a three day growth" were in fact, "Cheap wine and a three legged goat" up until about 6 months ago. I am 24.

It was only recently as I was driving with my relatively new boyfriend that I found out I had been getting the words to Baa Baa Black sheep wrong all my life. Not in one place but in three!! I had been singing:
Baa baa black sheep, have you anymore (any wool)?
Yes sir, yes sir 3 bags four (full)
One for the master, one for the day (dame)
And one for the little boy that lives down the lane.

When I was about 10 years old,I used to believe the song by The Commitments, Mustang Sally, was actually Mustard Salad, not a good thing to sing in front your class mates.

During Christmas every year, my favorite CD at my grandmother's to listen to was (and still is) John Denver and The Muppets singing Christmas songs. My favorite was The Twelve Days of Christmas, and when the sixth day came, I always thought the words, instead of "six geese-a-laying," were "six piece of lady." I remember singing along with Skeeter on that part.

My friend used to think "smoke on the water, fire in the sky" was "smooth walking Walter, the fire engine guy"

I always thought the words to the song by Cher were "they called us Pixies, Tramps and Thieves" instead of "Gypsies,Tramps...".

I used to believe that in the Strokes song Alone Together, the line "Let him go, he gave up" was actually "Let him go, leaky fuck". Until about five minutes ago.

i used to think that it was im twosixty instead of im too sexy
and i would get 260 cunfused with 360
so i would run around saying "im 260" at the top of my lungs while i spun in circles

Bananarama's song "Love in the First Degree" has a line that goes; "Only you can set me free, 'cause I'm guilty, guilty as a girl can be" which I always thought was "'cause I'm guilty, guilty as a coco bean"! Why?.........Why would a coca bean ever be guilty of anything!

The Elvis song 'There goes my only posession'? I swore black and blue was 'there goes my only potato'.Never could figure out till I was about 22 why he would be singing about potatoes.

I heard this one song on the radio, and the lyric went "My lovers got no money, he's got his strong beliefs" and I thought it said "My lovers got pnumonia he's got his trumbaleese" How weird does it get?

I used to think the song with the lyrics "down on the board walk, board walk" was "moor pork, moor pork" until the age of 8 or 9 when my younger neighbours could not stop laughing at me. They had great joy in letting me know the correct lyrics.........

— Bridget Collins(NZ)music : misheard lyrics

"My Sharona' was 'Mice Aroma'
"Where you from, you sexy thing" was "Wave a bra, you sexy thing"
"I've got chills, they're multiplying" was "I've got shoes, they're made of plywood"
and last but not least, "Who loves who the most" was "Hula, hula mo"

I used to believe…

years ago my friends brother, (who was about 7) thought the lyrics to "pump up the volume" were "pump up the barbyoo". Go figure.

I thought the Elton John song where he sings, "I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind, that I put down into words..." was "i hope you don't mind, platypus down in the woods."

I also thought the Barry Manilow song where he sings, "Looks like we made it." was "Looks like tomatoes."

Janie Jones by the Clash: The line "And in the intray lots of work but the boss at the firm always thinks he shirks" still sounds like "And in the intray lots of work but the boss says the burp is always six inches". Strummer's lyrics always had a poignancy, but I think in this case, mine's better.
