I used to believe that the words to Tom Jones - Sex Bomb was actually Sex Pot. I know the words don't sound the same but if you listen to the song, it really does sound like sex pot

I used to think that Tori Amos song was 'Honey bring the toast to my lips...he's got a big d***'!!! It's meant to be 'honey bring it close to my lips...it's got to be big'.

When i was younger i thought that the lyrics to Micheal Jackson's smooth criminal was "Hayley are you o.k, are you o.k Hayley"

I used to sing it to my sister, as it was her name.

I used to think (being a boy into cars) that Don't Stand So Close To Me by The Police, had the line
"Wet bus stop, she's waiting, his car is four wheel drive" - I was confused to find out many years later that in fact "his car is warm and dry".

Still think 4 wheel drive is better....

my best friend used to be under the impession that bon jovi's living on a prayer was living on a prairie. god know why but she sang it that way until she was 18. the only way we could convince her was to show her the words. strangly enough thats the way we all sing it now. wooooah oooooh were half way there ooooh oooooh livin on a prairie

My friend seriously believed the Vengaboys songs 'We're going to Ibiza' went 'Whoa! We're going to have a pizza...'!!!

A friend of mine thought the lyric in Ziggy Stardust went 'Making love with his eagle' instead of 'ego'. When I laughed and told him the real lyric, he claimed it made as much sense as any other Bowie lyric.

Being a huge Michael Jackson fan when I was younger I used to moonwalk around the living room to Billie Jean. I always thought the lyric in the second verse a bit odd - "But who can stand when she's in demand, Hurt squeeze every lens". Of course it's "Her schemes and plans" but I think I preferred it when Billie obviously had a problem with her contacts.

When I was younger I used to think that Sister Sledge sang 'Just let me staple the vicar' in We Are Family, in fact they sang just let me state for the record

I always thought that the chorus to the Cutting Crew song "(I just) Died in your arms" went "Ha-rah, I just died in your arms tonight, it must have been some kind of cheese." Makes sense, there are some nasty cheeses out there.

my little nephew thought that The Verve's "The Drugs Don't Work" were saying that "The Trucks Don't Work" so would always say to his Dad (a mechanic) "You can fix them can't you Dad?!?"

When I was 3 or 4, the Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams" was a big hit - it was my favorite song because I thought they were talking about a bear!

Instead of "some of them want to use you, some of them want to be used by you" I always heard:

"Summer bear want to use you, summer bear want to be used by you"

ahhahaha...i still laugh at that. Kinda morbid, but I love animals, what can i say??

I was 4 when the "Uptown Girl" video by Billy Joel came out. On the video, his skin looks so tan that I used to think that he was African-American.

1) I thought the Pink Floyd's wall went as "No dogs or cats in the classroom" instead of "no dark sarcasm...."
2) And that ACDC's "dirty deeds done dirt cheap "went there it is thunder cheif"?

I thought that the time duration listed after a song on a record (e.g., 3:30) referred to the time of day the song was recorded.

When I was little I was convinced the words to Bananarama's "Love in The First Degree" were "guilty as a cocoa bean" and not "guilty as a girl can be".
I still prefer that version.

When I was at university I bought a single called 'Inbetweener'by the now defunct band Sleeper. Louise sang a line which I firmly believed went:

"He dreams of a Roller, She dreams of a basket to weigh."

I understand now that the last section of this was actually "She dreams of a fast get away". All power to basket weighing!
