For years I thought the line in Bennie and the Jets was "she's got electric boobs and her ma has too". Actually it's "she's got electric boots and a mohair suit". I still sing my version however!

When our daughters were little and were singing Jingle Bells when they got to the part of the "one horse open sleigh. one had put in with "a horse with a broken leg" and the other had" a horse with soap on his leg."

In the Band Aid song I always thought that it went 'Beaver, woah, do they know it's christmas...' not 'feed the world, do they know it's christmas'.

In the song Dimples, by John Lee Hooker, the actual line (he sings it very gravelley and deep) is "You've got dimples in your jaw" ...even now however, I can still only hear what I mistakenly first thought it was..."You've got devils in your dog"... it just sounds like that OK!

In Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog", a friend told me that Robert Plant was singing "fish fillet woman ain't got no sole..."

I still don't know what the actual words are!

My daughter was convinced that the classic Sweet single Blockbuster contained the line
"There's got to be a way to the Bus Stop?" At 7 this made more sense than asking how to Blockbuster.

I used to believe…

that in the song : "How deep is your love" by the Bee Gees, they sang "and you come to me in a submarine". Why not?Love is sometimes so powerful.

PS : the original lyrics are :
"And you come to me on a summer breeze". Not bad either.

I always thought the hook in Kim Carnes' "Bette Davis Eyes" was "all the boys think she's a spaz" instead of "all the boys think she's a spy." D'oh!

If an artist was performing I always thought if their children needed something like a glass of water then the artist would have to stop performing and do it for them.

I used to believe the chorus of that song "Barbara Ann" (can't remember the artist)went: Bob bob bob, bob bob-a-ran. I wanted to know where Bob was running to.

I had a cousin who was convinced the first line of "you're the one that I want" [from Grease] was "I got you, them bolts are flying" [it's "I got chills, they're multiplying"] I didn't know what the words were and she was so adamant she was correct I believed her and could actually *hear* "I got you, them bolts are flying" every time I heard the song, until a friend wet herself laughing at me and told me what the words actually are.
I have another cousin who was running around yelling "Hey whatcha doin'" to a familiar tune, I asked what she was singing and she said "winter wonderland", the first line of which is, I corrected her [nicely!], "Sleighbells ring, are you listenin'".
I knew a guy who's nephew thought the Ghostbusters! theme was called "Jack the bastard", none of us could quite figure out why ...

I used to believe my dad was Jimmy Buffet. Mostly because he said so, but also, if you look at the album cover, I forget the name, but the one with the sinking boat called 'Good Luck', Daddy looks just like that picture of Jimmy. He also had me half-convinced that he had to sing the lines of songs before the radio so they'd know what to say next. I though my uncle was Alan Jackson, and still think of him everytime I hear AJ. Again, similar looks. And I forget his name, but the *guy* who sings 'Thank God I'm A Country Boy'? Well, I thought HE was my AUNT.....

In the song by Anistaia i think it is called lie or why did u lie to me...anyway the last lie of the chorus sounds like Why did u lie to me you good for mothing chuklebrother!!! i know that cant be right but i cant for the life of me figure out what it says.

I still believe that there's a line in Rock around the clock which goes,"when the clock strikes twelve we'll poo our pants" although it's supposed to be "when the clock strikes twelve we'll cool off then" -No simularity!

My Dad used to tell everyone that he taught Eric Clapton how to play guitar-"I taught him all he knew" and all the kids in my street believed him despite the fact my Dad could barley play guitar!

My friends mom thought she was all hip with young kids music she was singing "pass the kibosea yeah" Meanwhile it's "pass the courvosiea" by Busta Rhymes
She thought it was about a bunch of black guys at a Bar-B-Que eatin kibosea.lol

in the song "who wrote the book of love", instead of " I wonder, wonder who...who.who.who.who...who...who wrote the book of love " my son always thought it was " I wonder, wonder who..who.who.who.who..who..ruldoph the milk cow now.
