"For He's A Jolly Good Fellow" song - my mum used to believe the line "which nobody can deny"
was actually "strawberry candy eyes".
You know that song "That don't impress me..." by Shania Twain. I thought the line " I can't believe you kiss you car at night" was "I can't believe you kiss your carving knife" I'm not a phsyco...honest!
For ages i thought the words to Mrs Jackson (can't remeber who its by but its quite recent) actually said 'its my british accent' until i was caught singing it in front of my friends - it made sense at the time!

From the Carpenters hit I always sang "calling octopus of interplanetary craft" instead of "occupants".
I used to believe that songs had no words, they were just utteringsof vowels and consonants with a beat.
Then I started to make out some words out of songs and got myself together.
This honestly wasnt me! Dexys Midnight Runner. at the begining of "Come on Eileen" when he sings "poor old Johnny Ray" my mate thought he sang "Pool Hall Johnny Ray"
An old girlfriend of mine believed that the 80's song "Voices Carry" by 'Til Tuesday went "hush hush, keep it down down, Mrs. Gary."
She was 25 at the time.
When I was a kid, Bread came out with a song called "Make it with You". I first heard it when they appeared on the Andy Williams Show. Andy introduced them and said they would sing their new song, which I heard as "Naked with You".
I was horrified, sitting on the floor in the family room with Mom and Dad, hearing this group sing "I want to naked with you. I really think that we could naked, girl."
Didn't quite understand what it meant, but I knew it was something I shouldn't do with a girl.
When I was little, my mom would play CCR. My favorite song was "bathroom on the right"... later I learned it was "bad moon on the rise". Even now I catch myself singing my old verses!
I was about four when the Beatles released "Can't Buy Me Love." It was the first rock 'n roll song I remember hearing.
I thought the lyrics leading up to the chorus were "I don't care to bump the money, money can't buy me love."
I had no idea what bumping the money meant.
Up until about a month ago I always thought the line "Would she go down on you in a theatre?" in the song "You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morrisette was "Would she go down on your in a future"
Theatre makes much more sense if you ask me, Thanks Stimey!
There is this song: "Everytime you go away, you take a piece of me with you"...cant remember who sings it. When I was a kid I thought he was saying "Everytime you go away, you take a piece of MEAT with you". That still causes a chuckle.
I used to think that song by Nirvanna, were they sing "her denial" over and over was "bloody nylon"! O.K. I know it is sick. I REALLY thought that was what it was for like 2 years!
