In the song, "Kung-Fu Fighting" the lyrics are, ""Everybody was kung-fu fighting; those kicks were fast as lightning." I heard, ""Everybody was kung-fu fighting; those ; 'cats' were fast as lightning."

I couldn't figure out why they mentioned cats in the song.

My six-year-old brother sings the chorus to McLean's American Pie like this:

"Hi hi this American guy
Drove my buddy to the beddy
But the beddy was dry
Then good old toys
With wiskers and rye
Singing this will be the day I die."

When I was five, I thought the band 'Red Hot Chili Peppers' were actual peppers that sang. So everytime I saw a pepper, I would sing one of their songs and pretend that they were too shy to sing at that moment.

Up until I was about 8 or 9, I was convinced that, if you were a pop band, or any kind of band, ALL of your songs had to have roughly the same time signature. That was the rule! I guessed that bands split up most often because one or two of them wanted a change of sound. This belief probably arose since I was listening to The Spice Girls and such at the time, and their music doesn't exactly have a lot of variation.

Until yesterday i never knew what the lyrics to 'Scar Tissue' by the Chili Peppers was saying in the chorus.

I looked it up, and I thought "With the birds I'll share this lonely view" was actually saying

"With a blur, a shed is a long live you."

When I was maybe 8...I was addicted to watching CSI with my parents. The lyrics to the opening song are; 'Whooooo are you!? Who, who, who, who!?' However, I was convinced that that they were; 'Gooood morning! Good, good, good, good!' When I sang along to my version....my parents laughed so much :)

In the song "Jet Airliner" by the Steve Miller Band, there's a line that goes "Don't take me too far away". When I was little I thought it was "Don't take me to my wake". I assumed that he was talking about how he didn't want to die in a plane crash, which made sense. I remember thinking, "But how could you ever attend your OWN WAKE?"

Growing up I used to believe that the national anthem was a song for the Atlanta Braves. After all, the last line is "And the home of the Brave" and in Atlanta, they say "Braves". I didn't realize this until I went to a game in St. Louis and they were singing the song too. HOW DARE THEY!!!

I used to dance around singing, "Walk like an edemption"

I thought that Captain & Tennille was just one man, named Captain Antenille. Whenever I heard my mother talk about "him," I thought that he must be from France if he had a last name like that!

I used to think that everytime you listen to music, such as on a CD, on a computer site, or on the radio, the artist would quickly rush to a studio and play it for you. I also thought that whenever you listened to music on a car radio or CD player, deep down inside the speakers were tiny little clones of the artist of the song you were listening to preforming the song.I was probably about four to six years old when I thought this.

My ex-girlfriend took a lot of convincing that Annie Lennox was the lead singer of the Eurythmics, & not just a singer who sang in a similar style.
