I thought the Bon Jovi song went "Shot through the heart and your to blame, you give love a bandaid" because I figured the bandaid covered the shot wound.

My name is Martin. When me and my brother heard Year 3000 by Busted, one of the members, James had sang "went out to the back yard to find out if it was one of those rowdy boys". My brother heard it as "went out to the back yard to find out if it was one of those Martin boys" and thought i was being referred to.

When I was younger my Granma & Grandad lived round the corner from Elton Road. My Grandad once told me it was called this because Elton John lived there. I believed him for years and years. I would tell my friends that Elton John lived round the corner from my Grandad! It was only a few months ago (i'm now 22) that I found out he was winding me up. I was so sad that my claim to fame wasn't true.

There is a song that goes "Bulldoze paradise, and put up a parking lot". When I heard it, I misheard it al "Bulldoze paradise, and put up a f***ing lot. I asked my dad how they could play such a vulgar song on the radio and in malls, unbleeped. He just looked at me funny. Now I know why!!

When I was in middle school that boy band Hanson had just came out. Their big hit was that 'Mmbop' song. I used to hear it on the radio all the time and thought it was a girl group singing because they sounded like girls. It wasn't until a friend brought the CD to school talking about how hot they were that I realized they were boys. I didn't feel stupid, however because my other friend who was with us said "I thought they were girls!" Me too!

I used to think Cher's song "Half- Breed" really was saying "Heffrey!" I thought that was a new name, sort of like a variation on Jeffrey, that Cher was making up.

In the Captain and Tennille song "Love Will keep Us Together" I heard:

When those girls start hanging around talking me down
Hear with your heart and your long hair astounding....

instead of : Hear with your heart and you won't hear a sound

and

Young and beautiful
Someday your look so evolved

rather than:
Young and beautiful
Someday your looks will be gone

I used to hear in Warrant's song "Bed of Roses"; where it goes"on the bed of roses, not beneath some motel light..." - "on the bed of roses, nothing seems to multiply..." LOL, I have no idea, WHAT should multiply there...:)

I also misheard ABBA's Dancing Queen... where it goes "dig in the dancing queen", I heard "chicken, the dancing queen.." the fun thing is, My sister said me that, laughing at me (I was a huge ABBA fan back then), like"what stupid kind of song you listen to, it's about a chicken!" I was very angry at her, but I was kinda ashamed for my favorite band, 'cause I thought my sister was right.... Well, it still sounds like "chicken", what can I do:D

I always thought that in Billy Joel's "River of Dreams" ( In the middle of the night(middle of the night)
I go walking in my sleep(i go walking in my sleep)
From the mountains of faith(moutains of faith)
To the river so deep)(river so deep)
That the line "to the river so deep" was actually "to the dinosaur feet"

I used to think Elotn John was really weird (for other reasons than the obvious). I didn't know Elton was a first name, I only knew John was, so until I was like ten I was convinced he was going through some awkward phase where he reversed his first and last name becasue he was pissed at something, and that his name was actually John Elton.

One time I was at my aunt and uncle's house and I heard the song Islands in the Stream on the radio. From that day on I believed it was my aunt and uncle singing that song. So every time it came on the radio I would say that was their song untill my mom finally asked me what I meant. she got a good laugh before she told me it was actually Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers.

My best friends little sister who run through the house singing all the time. She thought that the Beach Boys song was sung "Help Me Roger" and any time she needed anything from us she would run around singing it.

When I was a small child and heard the commodores sing, "She's a brick house", I thought they were singing, "She's a brick....OW!" That never made a bit of sense to me

When I was a teenager I went to a Beach Boys concert with my cousins. They were talking about music they liked, and mentioned Simon and Garfunkel. I thought they were making it up and refused to believe in a band with such a silly name. Weeks later my cousins mailed me a tape of Simon & Garfunkel. Who knew?

I used to think the song that goes "Call me Mr Vain" was "Call me Mr Vein", when I was very young.

I thought it was some stupid medical song designed for kids until I heard the rest of the song many years later.

When I was little, my mom had a record player, and she had like a song by the beatles or sumthing about the presidents, and i thought abe lincoln was singing the song, and that abe lincoln must be alive because I believed that when you heard someone in a record, they were singing in real life. I was confused.

Good day mates, I'm referring to the Aussie band Crowded House's biggest single; "Don't Dream Its Over". Their chorus goes like this:
Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win

But as I child, I thought the chorus read like this:
Paper, paper
I'm three years old, heh
Paper, paper
When the word comes in
Acorn, acorn
It's a world between us
You'll know they won't win

Growing up in the sixties, when Bobby Vee and Bobby Vinton were both popular singers, I thought all the while that they were the same. I thought that Bobby Vinton had become so popular that they could call him simply "Bobby V." and everyone would know whom they were talking about, But, in fact, I DIDN'T know whom they were talking about until the late 1980s or so, when I finally realized that they were two different singers.

i've been a Fall Out Boy fan for a couple of years now. which is why i was kind of surprised when i first heard Sugar We're Going Down. i could have sworn it said "take aim at my shelf, take back what you shed." and of course, the ever-popular "we're going down town in a luleelarah. and sugah, we're going down singing. i'll be your number bun with a bullet. a lonely dark cop that's cocking and pulling."
i was wondering why Peter Wentz had changed his writing style so much...

I used to believe that the band Hawk Nelson was just one guy! It really sounds like one person, and I would always think how horrible it was that anyone would name their son Hawk. It wasn't until a few weeks ago, when someone asked me if I like that band. I tried to convince them it was just a singer...but I was wrong!
