I used to believe that Donna Summers wasn't singing "She works hard for the money," but rather "she was hot for the money." Yeah. I used to think that the song was about a gold digger.....

as it is nearly the world cup i will use a world cup song that i misheard lyrics to
with the song "3 Lions" by the lightning seeds i used to think that they were singing "3 lines on a shirt" and not the more obvious choice of lyrics "3 LIONS on a shirt"

When I was a kid I was a massive S Club 7 fan { wow that took alot of courage to say } and I thought the words to part of their song Don't Stop Movin was "Teacher's got us swirling around".

It was actually "DJ's got us going around."

My daughter told me last year, at age 14, that when she was younger she thought the lyrics to "Winter Wonderland" were....... "Later on we'll EXPIRE, as we dream by the fire...."

In the Snow Patrol song "Run", he sings "Slower slower, We don't have time for that, All I want is to find an easier way, To get out of our little heads".

I thought it was actually "to get out of our yellow hats". I thought they must be wearing really tight hats.

I thought for ages on the song 20th Century Boy by Marc Bolan & T-Rex, the verse was "wine tastes fine, wine tastes good, something, something, just like Robin Hood!" when the REAl ones are "friends say it's fine, friends say it's good, everybody says it's just like rock'n'roll!". I still have no idea where the Robin Hood bit came from lol

Although the lyrics to B*witched's C'e Lai Ve (or whatever it is) are "Say you will, say you won't, say you'll do anything, C'e Lai Ve!" I still am obsessed with the words being "Say you will, say you won't, say you'll do anyhting, celery!". Well, mine are better :) lol

When I first heard the song "Eye of the Tiger" from Rocky, when the singer got to the line "Ahye of the Tigah!" (That's what it sounds like to me) I thought they were saying "Oh-Oh-Oh Tyla!".

hall of fame

I used to think that the Yardbirds song "For you love" he was saying "Toyota" similar to a comercial that was out at the time.

I used to mix up Madonna and Marilyn Monroe. Not only that, but I also used to mix up Marilyn Monroe and Marilyn Manson. So sometimes Madonna was the pretty lady with the flying dress, and sometimes she was this scary punk rock guy.

Ok I'm 24 years old right now and I just realized 2 weeks ago that in Huey Lewis's song he sings, "It's hip to be square". All these years I thought it was, "Let's hit the B-Square."

I just happened to think of the song the other day and I told myself it doesn't make any sense, then it dawned on me that it's HIP TO BE SQUARE.

This isn't a misheard lyric. I heard the right words, but I didn't know what they meant. The Christmas song "Silent Night" contains the lyrics "All is calm, all is bright / 'Round yon virgin mother and child". Everything is calm and bright 'round (around) them.

I heard "'round yon virgin" and imagined that she was round because she was pregnant.

Before i stopped listening to her music, i thought Avril Lavigne's Moble where it said "I'm a Mobile!" I thought it said "I'm a moron!" I asked my cousin (who at the time was anti-avril) why she thought she was a moron, and she said that it was mobile, not moron, even though she WAS a moron.

Everyone know the Macy Grey song that was a hit long time ago ["I try"], well I thought it said
"SI try to say goodbye to Machoke"
Pokémon being really popular at the time too, made me think that she was saying goodbye to Machoke.

yeah...Rockafeller Skank...well, in my head it went a little sumthing like this...

apparently, i was mistaken...

when i was younger, (i cant remember who sings the song) "Everytime You Go Away"... i used to the the chorus was "everytime you go away, you take a piece of meat with you".. i could never understand why she always took meat with her!

I used to believe that the pop charts were musical versions of lonely hearts columns and all singers were looking for love. I once announced to my dad that Madonna (in 1988) would never get a boyfriend looking like that!

I used to believe…

My friend and I went to see the play "South Pacific" and there's a song talking about racism and how it's not natural, that people are "carefully taught" to be so.

Well, my friend thought they were singing "You must be careful, E. Tawt" as if it was a warning to a certain Mr. E. Tawt.

After clarifying what the song was really saying, I asked her who she thought E. Tawt was... she answered..."I didn't know! That's why I was sooo confused!"

In the Who's song 'Who Are You,' I thought the line was 'I remember throwing budgies around' instead of 'I remember throwing punches around.' For many years I always imagined Roger Daltrey throwing small pet birds around the recording studio.

In the song "Sugar, We're Going Down Swinging" by Fall Out Boy, I thought the lyrics went:
"Is this more than you want to forget?"
when they really go:
"Is this more than you bargained for yet?"
I didn't know until I had looked up the lyrics one day!

Another one..I was listening to the song "Niki FM" by Hawthorne Heights and I thought they said:
"Solitude, black and white"
when they were saying:
"The silence in black and white" Until I was singing the song and my friend pointed it out. Then she laughed at me, but told me that she thought the same thing at first!

Last one..In the HIM song "Join Me" I thought that he was saying:
"So won't you join me in there"
when the lyrics really went:
"So won't you join me in death"
It was kind of funny. I realised my mistake when I found out the full song title was Join Me
(In Death) and was pondering the lyrics. hehe.

Remember dinosaurs and pink penguins knock your socks off. Rawr. :]
