I used to believe…

In the Spice Girls song, "Merry Christmas," where it says, "but I think I'll skip this one this year," I thought it said, "But I think you'll touch my buns this year!" I knew what than meant, too. God, I was a perverted kid...

i used to believe that the lyrics to"change(in the house of flys) was" "al is in chains, who knew a fly", not, "i watched you changed into a fly" and also thought that Alice in Chains sang that beca"use of how close "al is in chains" sounds to "Alice in chains" when you say it fast.

I listened to Led Zeplin singing

"I want to be your back door man"

for many years before I realized he was singing about anal sex. I thought he meant sneaking in the back door of the house, like they were having an affair or something. Thanks Tim for clearing that one up for me.

At the end of the song "another one bites the dust" there is a part where Freddie Mercury keeps repeating Another One bites the dust, then he says "I'm Adopted". I thought, How cool, so am I! Never understood what it had to do with a shootout though. I always suspected that wasn't what he was saying, but until now, I never knew he was actually saying "Bites the dust-ah" putting a little more emphasis on the end of the word.
I think it was a secret message to his birth parents though.

I used to believe that during "The Star Spangled Banner"
that instead of 'by the dawn's early light' it would say,
'by the donnzerrli light' like it was a place or something!

my younger brother was singing to the christmas song "silver bells" and he sung it as "silver bears"

I used to think Ray Charles sang "What a Wonderful World" instead of Louis Armstong and I always wondered, since Ray Charles was blind, how he could sing about "I see trees of green" and stuff like that.

Im Blue by Eiffel 45... my cousin use to think it was "Im blue, if i was green I would die"

I thought the members of Led Zeppelin had created the zeppelin. One day, I had stumbled across a picture of a zeppelin in some store - and it had the words 'Graf Zeppelin' on it. So I had misread that as 'Led Zeppelin'. I had pointed to it, and said excitedly, 'Look, Mommy, it says Led Zeppelin!' I guess I said it pretty loudly, because some people were looking pretty stunned. My mom had a pretty tough time trying to explain to me that the derigible had been around for many decades before the rock band was.

I don't know what the song is called, but the dude says "Excuse me while i kiss the sky"
I always thought he said "Excuse me while i kiss this guy"

I used to believe…

In the song "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer", I thought that instead of being destined to "go down in history", he would "go down and hit the reith"

I used to believe…

When my sister was little she used to think BTO's song, Takin' Care of Business, was called Takin Care of Pidgeons. We had them play it at her wedding and everytime they came to the chorus the DJ turned down the sound and we all shouted at her "Takin Care of Pidgeons"

I used to think that the reason people were bad is because they listen to rap music and no other reason. But I listen to a lot of rap now, 4 years later

I used to believe…

When I was small I used to watch The Land Before Time a lot. The theme song is 'If We Hold on Together'. Some of the lyrics are:

If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
Where clouds roll by
For you and I

I somehow heard those lyrics (with a mangled tune to match) as:

Blazing motels
One thousand is the total
Waltzing at once
And we'll do it again

I believed this for a very long time. I knew it never made sense but accepted it as fact anyway.
