Up until about 1 minute ago, for the past couple of years i thought Macy Gray's song sang: I try to say goodbye and i choke, i try to walk away and i stumble, though i try to hide it its clear i blow bubbles when u r not here - - - when the last line was actually: my world crumbles when u r not here!!! *idiot* lol

Actual lyrics to Edward McCaine's "Ill Be": I'll be your crying shoulder, I'll be love's suicide."
I heard "I'll be love's silver sigh." I like my lyrics better.
I thought Robert Palmer was singing, "She's a man, there's no other way to go!" in Simply Irrisistable.
The correct lyric is "She's all mine, there's no other way to go".

I thought the first line to the Starspangled Banner was "Oh say can you see
By the donzer lee light?"
I figured a donzer was a lamp or something.

When I was younger I used to think that the song line "Mind the music and the step and with the girls be handy" in Yankee Doodle Dandy was "Someday when you're walking by the girls may come in handy."
I used to talk to the Led Zeppelin poster on my wall - thinking that the members from Led Zeppelin could hear me talking to them, like I had some sort of telepathic connection with them or something. I didn't even know that John Bonham was dead, until I was six.
I think it was either me or my sister that used to sing Baa Baa black sheep with these alternative lyrics;
And one for the little boy who lived down the DRAAAAAYN!

Just recently, my school's high school dance team danced to Madonna, Material Girl. The original lyrics are,
some boys kiss me, some boys hug me, I think they're ok.
My version was,
some boys kiss me, some boys hump me, I think they're so gay.

The song "American Pie" by Don McLean has the lyrics:
"While Lenin read a book of Marx..."
I thought it was:
"While Lennon read a book of marks..."
Something about John Lennon and a tally sheet or something.
I also thought the next line, instead of "...dirges in the dark" was "Sturgis in the dark", because my dad was a Harley enthusiast.
It also took me awhile to realize that the song was about Buddy Holly (man, alot of people post about him on here).

in the Beastie Boys song 'Intergalactic' they sing 'another dimension' but it's so distorted that one can easily hear 'I have an erection'

Key fact: we live near Lubbock, TX, it being the major town for shopping/etc. for us. My mom got me into Buddy Holly's music from some tapes we'd listen to in the car. I was about 8 or 10 or something, and they were talking about the Buddy Holly festival/center/statue on the news one day, and I asked my parents why they would have a festival for him HERE. They then informed me that Buddy Holly was from Lubbock, which I thought was nuts because up until then, I assumed that all famous people were from/lived in New York City (TV stars), Hollywood (movie stars), or Nashville (recording artists).

I used to get George Strait and Garth Brooks mixed up. I also though that Garth Brooks was a member of Brooks & Dunn on the side.
I ued to believe, in the song 'whiskey in a jar' that in the chorus, it was actuallly 'Whiskey and Angina!'
I wondered what the point of the qwhole song was about.

Me and my friend use to believe lil romoe and lil bow wow were the same person.
I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but in the case of me and my best friend, we thought that in Dido's song, "White Flag" the chorus sounded exactly like: I will go down with this ship ...And I'll POKE MY EYES OUT and surrender.
The actual lyrics are: ...And I won't put my hands up and surrender.
Ah, well. We were close! lol take care
