I convinced my boyfriend that Carly Simon and Mick Jagger had an affair and had a baby and that's why he sang back-up on "You're so Vain." To this day, he gets mad when I tease him!
I Used To Believe that Paul McCartney was my grandpa. Hmmmmm....

From time to time I find myself humming or singing a tune from the Roches I heard thirty years ago. I've searched high and low for this song only remembering the lyrics "If I take you to heaven, will you ever come down". I have searched the Roches discography, I've plugged lyric searches into search engines, I even asked various forums over years. But I've never found the song. I'd resigned myself to thinking the song was on some one-off collection I'd never find.
So today I popped in a Roches greatest hits collection I just purchased to hear a song I do know, and out comes THE tune I've been losing brain cells over for all these years. Except they're singing "If you go down to Hammond, will you ever come back".
I think the Roches are laughing at me right now.

I believed that TLC's "Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls" really was "Don't Go Jason Waterfalls". It could be a guy, right?
I've always been a huge Beatles fan. When I was younger, I remember listening to "Ticket to Ride" - "I think I'm gonna be sad, I think it's today...the girl that's driving me mad is going away." Couldn't figure out for the life of my why someone would be sad if the person who was making them mad was going away - shouldn't they be happy? Of course, I figured it out!

In the song "All These Things That Ive Done" by The Killers i thought the line was "my erection, well it comes and goes.."
its actually "my affection, well it comes and goes" (!)
I drove across europe with my best friend Jerker in a car listening to ZZ top sleeping bag and singing "Supersonic sleeping baaaaag!" instead of "Slip inside my sleeping bag". I still like my version better.

When I was little I thought that Kenny Rogers was saying,"You picked a fine to leave me Lucille. I've got four hundred children and the crops in the field." I figured he was right to be mad...she left him with a ton of kids! (It is actually, I've got four hungry children.)
I used to believe that the lyric "here I am, stuck in the middle with you" was actually "here I am, stuck in the middle OF you" That conjured up an unusual and quite scary image of someone who had become stuck while having sex and couldn't get free.

There's a song that goes "for the life of me, I cannot believe we'd ever die for these sins, we were only freshmen." I was so confused by this when I was little because I thought they were saying "I cannot believe we'd ever die, forty cents, we were only freshmen."
I used to believe there were two Axl Rose(s) when I was about ten. This was prompted by what I heard as two distictly different but similar enough voices in the song "Sweet Child o' mine". I now understand that they were overdubs! Well, this belief was furthered by the video for the song which Axl constantly goes from being shot in black and white to being shot in color. The transformation of Axl 1 into Axl 2 is most apparent in the "where do we go" part of the video where his voice not only changes, but he has from what I remember, the shakes, as well as an incredible hulk type look on his face as he changes once again from black & white to color along with an evident voice character change....
wouldn't have been great to have to Axl's?
don't let me get started with my nine year old interpretation to the lyrics of "Paradise City"...

A friend of mine used to think that the Scribe song that is supposed to go "How many dudes you know flow like this? Not many, if any" was "How many dudes you know flow like this? How many, bout fity" (as in, slang of fifty!)

The song by Alanis Morissette, I don't remember the name, but the real line is "It's not fair to deny me of the cross I bear that you gave to me you, you, you oughta know"
But I always thought she said "It's not fair to deny my of the 'cross-eyed' bear the you gave to me" So I pictured a cross-eyed teddy bear.

Whenever I the movie Titanic first came out, I pretty much fell in love with the song "My Heart Will Go On"...but instead of "Far across the distance, and spaces between us" I thought it said "Far across the distance and spaceships between us." It for some reason made sense at the time.
