my husband thought that the Simon and Garfunkel song Mrs Robinson was
"its a little secret mrs robinsons' a bear" instead of the
"its a little secret just the robinsons' affair."...
and used to joke around with people named robinson about their wives being bears!! they were like-- HUH??!!

Three Green Day lyrics still always stump me:

From Time of Your Life:
-I heard "time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go" as "tounge grabs you by the wrist..."
-I still here "hang it on the shelf in good health and good time" as "hang it on the shelf in good old-fingered time"

Finally, from Boulevard of Broken Dreams, I heard "sometimes I wish someone out there will find me" as "sometimes I wish a water bear will find me."

In the Gordon Lightfoot song Carefree Highway - I used to think it was "Every highway, let me slip away..." instead of "Carefree highway, let me slip away..."

When I was a teenager my friend's brothers-ages 8-9- thought that Eric Clapton's "Lay down Sally" was "Make a salad".it didn't matter that the next words were "and rest you in my arms" Still today when I hear the song I will sometimes hum to myself ".. make a salad" to see if I can * hear* what they heard.

'When Smokey sings, I hear violins'

I don't! I hear 'When smoke gets in, I feel firing'.

Made perfect sense to me!

Once, when I was about 8, I was in my local Woolworths and saw an album chart, in which many of the albums were by "Various". I wondered to myself why I'd never heard of Various before if they were popular enough to have that many albums in the chart at the same time.

I suppose it's the musical equivalent of the assumption that Anonymous was a prolific poet.

I used to think that my dad was the bass player for AC/DC. I don't exactly remember how I came by this belief, but I think it has something to do with the fact that my mom and I were listening to AC/DC when I asked her what band my dad was in.

When I was about 6, I thought that when a song fades out, the effect is created by the band performing on the back of a truck, which then drives away from the microphone.

I was also highly confused by songs which had the same person's vocals played over the top of each other, wondering how the hell it was possible to sing two things at the same time. When my mum told me that it was done by a mixer, I imagined a mixer to resemble a big washing machine.

Insane Clown Posse has a song called "Assasins".
The chorus goes "Ya know who ya f***ing wit, w-w-w-w-w-wicked clowns!" I would always sing it like" Ya know who ya f****ing wit, b-b-b-b-b-b-break it down!"

Oh God, ICP disco!

When I was younger I had a habit of getting my pop stars mixed up. Elton John was head of the Beatles, Pink Floyd sang "Get this Party Started" and even though everyone else was confused, I knew Marilyn Monroe was a boy.

i got caught out a couple of months ago by a group of friends when i did my best rendition of spiderbait "black betty". the problem was that i thought it was about the story book horse and sang "whoa black beauty bam ba lam". ill never live it down...

My friend used to think that the song 'bootylicious' by destiny's child went :
"I don't think your ready for this jetty... coz my body's too boobylicious for you babe" instead of 'jelly' and 'booTylicious'.

The song "Hanging By a Moment" by Lifehouse the part that goes:
"I'm falling even more in love with you
Letting go of all I've held onto
I'm standing here until you make me move
I'm hanging by a moment here with you"

I thouhgt it went:
"I'm falling even more in love with you
Letting go of all I've ever known
I'm standing here until you make me blue
Hanging by a moment here with you."

You know Green Day's lyrics to "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"? They sing, "Sometimes I wish someone out there would find me."
My brother thought they sang "Sometimes, I wish a hungry bear would find me."

When i first heard of Eminem, i thought he was African American. I mean, there aren't many white rappers nowadays, now are there?

You know that song 'Heven is a Halfpipe' that goes:

'If I die before I wake
At least in heaven, I can skate,
'Cos right now on earth, I can't do jack,
Without the man upon my back.'

I was only little when I first heard it, and my friend and I had started to learn to skateboard. We were very confused by the last couple of lyrics in the chorus, but in the end, we decided that 'Jack' was a trick that we hadn't heard of, and this guy was really crap at it, and had to have the inventor of the trick on his back, telling him what to do all the time, and in heaven, he'd be able to do 'Jack' perfectly.

I'm forteen now, and I only realised the other day!
