I know a lot of people believed this but ... I used to believe the CCR song "Bad Moon on the Rise" was "There's a bathroom on the right." I thought they must have had some kind of traumatic experience to write and sing a song about where the bathroom is.

When I was younger, I thought that in the chorus of "There's a Bad Moon on the Rise", that the man was singing "There's a bathroom on the right". It always seemed rather pretentious that the man automatically assumed that the woman was staying with him and needed to use the restroom.

When my sister and I were young, my parents listened to a lot of Creedence Clearwater Revival. Well, for years we thought the words to "Bad Moon RIsin'" were "There's a bathroom on the right" instead of "There's a Bad Moon on the Rise"! My mom just let us sing it that way and didn't correct us until we were older because she thought it was funny!

Where's the restroom? Well, a very well known song by Credence Clearwater Revival goes, "... Don't go out tonight, it's bound to take your life. There's a bad moon on the rise."
When I was five until I was about nine, I used to think the song said, "....There's a bathroom on the right."

I always got a little embarrased when that line came 'round. Never liked people telling me where the bathroom was, assuming I needed to "go."

As a child, I thought the lyrics to CCR's Bad Moon Risin were "there's a bathroom on the right" instead of "there's a bad moon on the rise." It made perfect sense to me - we always listened to CCR on family road trips.

In that Creedence Clearwater Revival song "Bad Moon Rising", instead of "there's a bad moon on the rise" I heard "there's a bathroom on the right".

A very dear friend of mine used to think the CCR song "Bad moon on the rise" was "Bathroom on the right". Whenever we went out, someone would ask, Hey Jess where's the bathroom? oh yah, it's on the right...

When I was little, often the music on my sister's radio would be popular rock music of the time (70's). Several songs happen to be played a lot and they never seemed to enunciate clearly so my child's mind filled in the missing and unclear syllables. One song always sounded like directions to the restroom which as a kid, which I felt was conveying important and useful information. It wasn't until I was in college that I found out the song line was "There's a bad moon on the rise" and not "There's a bathroom on the right." Another song sounded as though someone was making spaghetti sauce for a whole lot of people. It wasn't until a few years ago that I found out the true song lyrics were "Guantan amira," about a girl from Guantanamo Bay, not "I need a one ton tomata". Hey, to a kid, how do you make spaghetti sauce for a thousand people, right? You need a really big tomatoe!

When I was little, my mom would play CCR. My favorite song was "bathroom on the right"... later I learned it was "bad moon on the rise". Even now I catch myself singing my old verses!
