music: misheard lyrics

I have a cousin who... isn't all that bright. Well, she was listening to my iPod in the car, which was playing "Losing Grip" by Avril Lavigne.

The line was:
"I was left to cry, there waitin' outside there, grinning with the lost stare."

My cousin's version:
"I was left to cry, there waitin' outside, Cher, grinning with a nig*er."

I was just staring at her... that wasn't even remotely close!

I thought the lyrics to Changes by David Bowie specifically the second verse "I watch the ripples change their size but never leave the stream of warm impermanence" as "I watch the nipples change their size but never leave the stream, I want another sandwich"

I used to think the lyrics "'Ti' a drink with jam and bread" in the Do Re Mi song from the Sound of Music was "'Ti' a drink with German bread." Always wondered what German bread was.

My friend Sandy use to sing "Dirty jeans, Dungarees", instead of Dirty deeds done dirt cheap!

There is a Rolling Stone song that has the words'never be your beast of burden' and my young daughter would always sing this song, except her words were,"never leave your pizza burning"

At the end of the Beatles song Love Is All You Need, where they repeat the line, my brother used to sing along "Love Salami". I thought the song Paperback Writer sang "paid for my Chrysler"

When Gun's & Roses came out with paradise city, I thought they were saying "Take me down to bare ass city where the grass is green an the girls are pretty".

Instead of singing "One step closer to the edge" (Linkin Park) I sang along like this:

"Cause I watched that brother to the edge, and I´m about to brake!"

What kind of english is that!? Even the songs title is "Ont step closer"

I used to believe that in the Strokes song Alone Together, the line "Let him go, he gave up" was actually "Let him go, leaky fuck". Until about five minutes ago.

I used to believe that the song "Elvira", the words were "hell, fire up...my hearts on fire, for hell fire up"...why, i dont know, since i knew the NAME of the song was Elvira!!!

when i was 16 there was a song called Hurry up harry ......by sham 69, i really didn't understand it when they sang in the chorus ''Marry the hairy camel'' i only realised it was''hurry up harry, come on'' when my husband realised what song i was singing an told me what the actual words were.

I used to believe the lyrics to the zephyr song (red hot chilli peppers) were "Fly away on my cell phone" instead of "fly away on my zephyr!)

i used to think the song jeremy by pearl jam said "jeremy's toe jam, heeeyyy" instead of "jeremy's spoken, in class today"
