I used to believe that Brian May of Queen was the presenter of "Magpie" (he wasn't - it was lookey-likey Mick Robertson).

I also used to believe that the voice from inside the radio was a person actually in there and I remember trying to squint through the lit-up dial and see them. (It was a big radio, OK?!)

I have only found out last week from my boss in work that spinal tap was never a band it was a spoof film. So it just shows that at 36 years of age we can still be fooled with things " i used to believe " not just children..

I was born in 1960 and I believed my father was Elvis Presley (he was thin with black hair and he was cool), one day I heard Elvis on the radio and said "there you are" and after some explaining on what I meant, everyone laughed at me and my feelings were hurt but my dad is still cool.

When I was younger my dad told me that you had to like The Beatles to be an american (even though I knew they were not american). For a long time I thought it was the law to like The Beatles. I was even nicknamed (and I'm still called) Abbey- after the Abbey Road album!

My sister used to think that a line from the song "Say Say Say" by Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson, was "Say, say say what you want, but don't play games with my erection(affection)"

I used to think that the posters on my wall were watching me at night. I used to hide under the covers and peep out to see if any of them had moved. I wish the Kylie one did

My two children (ages 13 and 10) absolutely refuse to believe that Michael Jackson was ever dark skinned. I've shown pictures from my old Jackson Five albums, and they still don't believe me.

I used to listen to the back to the future soundtrack. The second track was called, "The Bomb Town," and was by Lindsey Buckingham. I thought she was some pop singer of the 80s. The voice also made me think the same, but after a few years, I saw the movie "Vacation," and the song "Holiday Road" was also by Lindsey Buckingham. I figured it was the same woman. Later I heard she was married to Stevie Nicks, but then I fianlly figured it out...

Lindsey Buckingham was the guitar player for Fleetwood Mac, and HE was married to the singer, SHE was Stevie Nicks.

Came home to see my brother watching that old Midnight Music show. I asked him who was hosting and he said "Alice Cooper but I haven't seen her yet." I look at the TV and there's Alice and I said that is Alice Cooper. Freaked him out big-time.

I thought Stevie Nicks was a guy until I read this page. Wow, I wonder how much other stuff I'm not aware of.

When I was younger, I used to think that when the radio played a song, that the performer was in the studio. I wondered how all of those people fit in there.

When I saw Michael Jackson's video for "Thriller", I read the little caption on the bottom of the TV as "Michelle Jackson." My brother kept on refering to the artist as "he" (ie. "He's such a good singer") which left me in utter confusion, but I thought my brother would beat me up if I asked about this, so I remained silent for about a year.

I also thought that my uncle was in the Beatles. This doesn't make sense for quite a few reasons, such as the fact that my uncle is about 36 years old. I also owned a Beatles album and knew the names of everyone in the band. I guess I thought that he was just a secret member. I think I believed this because he played the guitar and would always sing "Julia" by the Beatles whenever he saw me.

Around 9, 10 I started putting posters of pop stars (Duran Duran, for instance) on my walls. I thought that they had tiny cameras in the eyes and could watch their fans whenever they wanted. This, of course, had me changing my clothes in the bathroom a whole lot!

I saw Stevie Nicks on TV and thought the microphone was a weird ice cream cone because she had her mouth so close to it.

Someone once told me that Mariah Carey was a "white girl with a black soul" so I thought she was born in a black family but was white, thus making her feel kind of left out.
