I used to believe that the classical music was made in the sky by the angels, because when i was 5, my mom listened classical music, she always said that "oh my god this songs are the sky" and i imagined the angels with different musical instruments

When I was young I used to believe the Y.M.C.A. was some kind of weird hotel because they sang "It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.You can get yourself clean, you can have a good meal,
You can do whatever you feel..."
Why would you "stay" at a gym? You "go" to the gym and "stay" at a hotel.
And I didn't know the Y serves meals???

In the song "Jingle Bells" I thought the lyric "one horse open sleigh" was "one horse soapin sleigh." For years I wondered what the heck a "soapin sleigh" was. I figured that maybe they added soap to the bottom of the sleigh to help it move along? I don't think I figured it out until I was in my late 20s.

I used to be scared of the song "Man-eater" because I thought it was literally about a woman who hunts down men and eats them.

I used to believe that when I listened to my Walkman, the bands were actually playing a live show for me. So I would pause and fast forward all the time, thinking that I was making the band work hard.

I wasn't into rock music until this year. In may I heard a song by The Who for the first time I thought was called Teenage Wasteland. Over the summer and fall I kept hearing reference to a song by The Who called Baba O'Riley that was supposed to be one of their most iconic songs. I could never understand why I never heard it on the radio, and wasn't quite curious enough to look it up online. Yesterday I looked at the recently played list on my local radio station's website to find out what another song I heard was, and I saw that Baba O'Riley had played while I was listening. My jaw dropped for an entire minute when I realized that "Teenage Wasteland" was really Baba O'Riley!

I used to believe that "I" was the baby babbling in Aaliyah's song "are you that somebody." And I'll try to mimic the song as if I was still a baby... ( I was 3yrs old when it came out) I did this until I was 6...

When I was younger, my older sister would blast the top 40 hits while she got ready for school. This was when Autotune became popular, and I thought the majority of songs were sang by robots, like in SpongeBob. Every morning I would do the robot dance to the radio, and I never understood why my sister looked at me like I was crazy.

I used to believe that Christina Aguilera's song "Genie in a Bottle" was about an actual genie. It wasn't until I was about 12 that I listened again and got what the song was really about…

I used to believe that 'heavy metal' meant the musical instruments were literally heavier than usual because they were made of steel or something.

In the last verse of Billy Joel's We Didn't Start the Fire, he says "homeless vets". Up until recently, I thought Billy Joel was saying "homo sex".

My older sisters loved Gloria Estefan when I was little. One of their favorite songs to play was "Rhythm is Gonna Get You." I was terrified, because I didn't know what rhythm was, and I didn't want it to get me when I turn out all the lights!

On the song "I'm too Sexy" by Right Said Fred I thought the line "I'm a model, you know what I mean" was "I'm a martyr, you know what I mean" I figured some people might think it was sexy if you were willing to suffer for your beliefs.

I used to believe that the song "Kiss From a Rose" by Seal was originally sung by Chuck E. Cheese and his band because I saw it in their animatronic show. It was not until I was like 12 did I hear that song in the car and I asked my mom, "Why is a Chuck E. Cheese song playing on the radio?"
