I used to believe the world was just some big guy's head and he was always sleeping. An earthquake would happen because he was moving in his sleep, and volcanoes would erupt because he had to sneeze. I always thought though that when and if he woke up, the world would be gone so I would always try to be quiet and good so I wouldn't destroy the world.
my sister and I used to tell our younger brother that the weeds by the fence were actually spinach and that if he ate them he would become strong like Popeye. He did. And he went back for more when he felt he needed more strength.

I used to think that thunder was God bowling and the lightning was when He got a strike. Rain was also God crying and snow was God's dandruff.
When I was about 4 or 5 or so, on the way back home from school, I'd quite often stare at the sun for ages, because I thought it was a hole in the sky (if you really stare at it, it looks that way). I was a stupid child in some respects, and I wear glasses to this day - I'll probably always wonder if the two things are linked.
My husband used to believe that smokestacks were cloud machines. It's just about the cutest thing I've ever heard.

When I was young, I remember seeing a Sesame Street episode where a mountain was shaped like Mr. Snuffleupagus. I spent years looking at every mountain we drove by to see if I could find that mountain. Even now I catch myself looking at mountains and remembering what I used to believe!
Up until I was in the 7th Grade, I used to believe that corn grew in the ground, not on the corn stalks.
I used to believe that when you wished upon a star ... your wish would come true. Like one time I wished for a "My little pony" . The next morning I was sad to find my wish hadnt come true .

I used to believe that smoke stacks that pumped out white smoke were cloud makers.
When i was about 5 up until i was about 7 i used to believe that New York was on the other side of the mountains. So everytime my family and i went on a trip to the mountains i use to always say "yeah i'm going to New York!" Then wonder why we never ended up there later.
On long car trips we would pass factories whose tall stacks continuously steamed and smoked. I was sure these were cloud factories!
When I was younger I used to believe that spinning a globe is what caused the earth to spin. I was always very cautious not to let myself of anyone make it spin too fast- otherwise we'd all get dizzy and maybe fall off. I guess I had a lot of faith that no one else was spinning their globe too fast either!
When I was about 7 years old, I had a map of the world on my wall. One day I noticed that South America could fit into Africa quite nicely. I came to the conclusion that they used to be connected and over time they had floated apart. I told my mother about my observation and the next thing she did was to send me to a child psychologist.
Ok, I live in a place where it snows quite a bit. When I was in kindergarten, I thought that when it snowed, it was god's dandruff. I beleived this until I was in the third grade, I think. So, whenever it would snow, I was afraid to go outside because I thought I would get dandruff.
when there is a thunderstorm the lightening and thunder is god bowling. the thunder is god getting a strike and the lightening was the angels celebrating the strike. at one point i was also told that the lightening was god getting angry that his ball went into the gutter.
When I was little I was told what biodegradable was and thought you could watch the things that were biodegradable go into the ground, so I use to through orange pills on the ground in my backyard and try to see them disappear.
