When I was little, I used to believe that if there wasn't a cloud over my area on the weather forecast, then there'd be no weather for the day.

The star wishing thing... Yeah. I used to believe that. Then I got mad and had a fit when my wishes of becoming a butterfly didn't come true...
I used to think lightning was when God was rubbing his feet on the clouds wearing wool socks. I always imagined him giggling as he shocked all us poor humans... As I've said in other entries of mine... I'm an odd, odd child...
When my friend was small she couldn't get the word foggy right. Always said froggy. Her parents thought it was so cute until one day being driven to school on a very "froggy" day she was staring out her window and said to her mom, "Those frogs must be REALLY small!"
My cousin told me when I was about 5 years old that during thunder storms, God was bowling and when it thundered it meant He got a strike. Also told me that lighting meant that God was watching fireworks.
When I was smaller my brother told me that the sun was going to blow up. Well, he was right, but I didn't realise that that would happen in several billion years. For the following week after he told me I had nightmares of the sun exploding. I woke up screaming, "IT'S EXPLODING! HEEEELLLLPPPP!" I still get him for the trauma today...
When I was younger I used to believe many things. Things that you would stop you in your tracks and burst out laughing. One of my most popular ones just happen to the lake. I used to live in Kentucky and there was this huge lake (I thought it was huge atleast) but anyway I believed that their were sharks in the water. It would take hours for my poor mother to persuade get me to get in and by the time I was ready to get in it would be to late. I also believed that there were bodies at the bottom just waiting for ME to find their dissolved carcus. I still believe that there are bodies at the bottom of the lake but as for the sharks I know better. Just to let you know though...I'd rather stick with the pool.
when i was little girl...my mom used to tell me that when there were flashes in the sky it was god taking pictures of us... and when it was the big storm with the thunders...it was because he didnt like the pictures he tooks so e breaks the camera...so me...nice little girl always make sure to smile at the sky when god takes pictures
I use to watch alot of specials on the discovery channel about asteroids hitting the earth.I was so frightened by this that a couple nights i thought every little sound was the sound of an asteroid hitting the earth and destroying the world.Good thing i grew out of that phobia-lots of little sounds occur in the night
i used to think that the clouds were made of whipped cream but i then found out that they were not when i went through them on an aeroplane
When I was about 4 years old, I believed that everything had a black outline. After all, when you drew somthing with crayon, you drew the outline (in black) first, then filled it in. The reason you couldn't see the outline was because, on real things, the outline was very thin.
I used to believe that winter came because the earth had moved farther away from the sun. It never occured to me that it was summer in other parts of the world, I thought we had global summers and winters. That never explained why it never snowed during our Christmas time, which is in summer.
I used to think that when it rained,it meant God was washing his hands
I used to believe that when it rained god was peeing!
I used to believe that everything was alive, and had a personality and everything. (i probably got this idea after watching Pocahontas sing "colors of the wind" which sings about how everything has a life, a spirit, and a name) i would go around talking to inatimate objects, and i would apologize to flowers after cutting them for vases because i thought it hurt them.
When I was small, the family had a party and being a young child I played up. My Uncle took me to the patio doors and told me to look up at the moon. He told me that if I made lots of noise the moon would hid. So I stood quiet for the rest of the night (and several nights after that) scared that the moon would disappear.
Can't wait to use this on my kids!

I loved dinosaurs very young and I thought perhaps thunder was really dinosaurs coming out of hiding for a while.
