Alright...so when I was little, I must have had tornados mixedup with TOMATOES. So everytime there was supposedly tornadoes, I envisioned giant tomatoes with big shoes coming and stomping all the houses.

Once when I was about four, it was the middle of the summer and I wanted it to snow. I asked my Daddy why it couldn't snow, and he replied, "Because the air is too warm. The air has to get cold for it to snow." Being clever, I decided that I was going to cool the air myself. I got one my family's plastic ice packs out of the freezer and laid it in the middle of the driveway. When nothing happened after a few minutes, I thought that maybe the "coldness" was too low to reach the air, so I propped it up on a brick.
Around 1984, I found this funky-looking mushroom in the backyard. The cap was about a big and thick as a piece of steak. But, it coloring was disgusting (orange, yellow and green)! On top of that, brown sludge was oozing out the side. I pummeled it with a plastic baseball bat. My Dad said now I had 'got poison on the bat.' Impulsively, I "cleaned" it off with my hand. Now I had 'poison on my hands.' He told me to go inside and wash my hands. As I was going inside, I tasted my finger. Then I realized "...What have I done??? I've eaten mushroom poison!!!" I now assumed I was going to die. "2000" randomly popped into my head. "I have only until the year 2000 to live!" ...Well, it is now 2004 and I don't feel one bit ill. --How silly.

I used to think Tornadoes was when you'd see huge tomatoes attacking the town and ruining everything, what a freak.

I used to believe that the weather people would always make it hotter in London that anyway else in britain because they lived there
I used to be scared of thunder and lightning as a kid, and so I made up a story involving God and his angels, to this day, I still believe, even though I now don't beleive in God.
When its thunder, God's passing wind. When its raining, the angels are weeing, and when it's lightning, God's annoyed with everyone...
I used to believe that every seed would grow where ever it was planted. One day I swallowed a dandelion seed and for months I was waiting until it came sprouting out of my mouth, which then I thought it would kill me because I also believed that the white stuff inside dandelions was poison. So I waited for months and months for my "death" which I knew was going to come. I lived with this fear for about a year until I realized that the dandelion seed wouldn" grow in my stomach.
i used to believe that giants lived in the sky, and when it rained it was cos the giants were upset and were crying.
When I was in elementary school, I thought that tornados came out of storm drains. I walked to school in the middle of the street so that the tornados wouldn't suck me down into the storm drains. This was especially weird since I grew up in California, and we don't have tornados. I guess I watched The Wizard of Oz too much.
I used to believe…
being one of 4 childern my mum and dad always told us that popping the bubble wrap bubbles but holes in the ozone layer leading to the end of the world. so mean........
Since the time I first heard of the fjords in Norway, I remember having two distinct misconceptions as to what a fjord is. My first was that a fjord was some kind of fruit -- totally wrong. Then later I had a notion that a fjord was some kind of festival -- equally wrong!
When I was a kid, I had a metal globe of the earth. I was under the impression that we lived on the inside of the shell, not the outside. I kept asking my Dad how can planes fly without hitting the inside of the planet. He had no idea what I was talking about.

As a child growing up in Montana, when we would be riding in the car, up and down the rolling hills, I used to think that the earth was breathing (inhale.. uphill.... exhale...downhill).

I was a kid when the Soviets got Sputnik up. I asked my father if that wasn't dangerous--I thought we lived inside the earth, and that a satellite would poke a hole through the other side when it came our way. After he stopped laughing, he explained that we actually lived on the outside. Then, I worried about falling off!
