When I was wee little, my Aunt K told me that the smoke stacks in my home town made the clouds. The sad part is, I believed it until I was 12.

When I was little, I used to think that the nine planets, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, etc., were all located inside the "world", which looked like our globe. So North America was "Earth", and each of the other continents was also a planet. It never occurred to me that there weren't nine continents. And I thought "space" was the area between the planets inside the world, and outside the world was "outer space." It wasn't untill later that I figured out that Earth and the World were the same thing.

When my sister Elsa was little, whenever we drove past the power plant, where there was always smoke coming out the smokestacks, she thought that the power plant was the "cloud factory", and that was its sole purpose was to make clouds, otherwise there would be none.

Going to my Grandmothers, we would always pass a huge factory that had tons of smoke pouring out from it. I though it was a cloud making machine.

I used to think that tornados and tomatoes were the same thing. I was watching a show about growing tomatoes, and they were showing a tomato cage. I thought a tomato cage was used to catch a tornado so it doesn't destroy anything.

When I was little, I drew on the grass with chalk because I wanted it to snow. The next day it did snow and I thought it was because of the chalk.

i thought that the weather man had a machine that controlled the weather. every day he would pick whatever weather he wanted it to be, and thats how he was able to forecast what the weather was going to be. i also thought he could do really random ones if he wanted, like making it snow cottage cheese.

When my mother was a little girl, her cousin shot his pistol into the air. Soon after, the first red streaks of sunset appeared. Mum was horrified.. she thought her cousin had injured the sky and made it bleed.

When I grew up, thorny bushes were called sticker bushes. So I always imagined Stick-on Stickers on the branches.

A friend of mine believed that planets could become pregnant and give birth to new planets. She claimed that she saw a planet-birth on TV.

Needless to say, I was rather confused by hearing this, and spent the next few months wondering whether or not I should believe her. :-)

I used to believe that when the cow "jumped over the moon", he milked on it so that's why the moon was white..and was made of cheese because milk was in the moon.

When I was younger I used to think that clouds were mado out of diamonds. My first time on a plane I tried very hard to figure out how to open the window, and was very disappointed when I couldn't. It was my get rich quick scheme. What made me think this? Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds. Makes sense doesn't it?

Being the highly intelluctual child that I was, I always knew that lightning was NOT flashes of fire from the sky, but were bright yellow yo-yos.

Thunder was when the yo-yos broke.

when i was younger, and more gullible, my uncle and i were driving through the country and we passed a farm and this farm had those big bushels of hay. well the one he pointed to was covered in the white plastic and told me it was a marshmallow..so for years i was convinced that there were farmers that grew giant marshmallows.

When I was a kid I didn't think that trees moved
_because_ of the wind, but that they made the wind move from one to the next. One tree would
_somehow_ start swaying, fanning the next tree,
and so on down the street, in a domino effect.

When I was little I had a nightmare that I was being chased by a walking tree. After I had that dream, I thought that every tree in the entire world was as truely evil as the one that chased me. Every time I saw a tree, I'd be ever so careful not to touch it for fear of it eating me.

when i was 5 my dad told me that if i ever touched the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow that i would turn into a chicken, and i was too scared to ask anybody if it was true, just in case it actually was!! i didn't find out the truth till i was like 11!!
