When I was 3, one day I was out in the garden with my mammaw. There was sunflowers that were over 7ft tall in the garden. I used to believe they were trees. So I told my mammaw, "I'm was gonna stomp down the big trees." So I did and when I finally got it to stomp down there was a big red worm under it. I screamed "Its a snake mammaw." WE both ran to the house and my pappaw came outside with a gun and when he saw the red worm he started laughing really hard. He said " Honey, its only a worm." I said "Well, whats the difference?"
My Cousin used to believe that when it rained, God must have been crying.

When I was little I used to believe tornadoes formed from those smokestacks at factories. Whenever I rode by them I'd always look away because I was afraid of tornadoes.

When I was 7, there was a speical about asteriods, since there was one that was passing by Earth. I didn't understand it correctly, and I thought the asteriod was going to hit Earth and kill everyone. So I bothered my father daily to make a basement to protect us, and when he told me 'no', I made my own fort and would spend all day looking for any asteriods in the sky.

When I was little I believed that every night my Grandpa would get out a ladder and hang the moon. There was a moon mobile in a mall near my house and I thought he put that up too, but not everyday.
When I was little, we would always get in a tube and bounce up and down in the pool to make a "wave pool." When we went to the beach, I thought there was a really really fat person in the middle of the ocean with a really big tube bouncing up and down to make waves!
When I was younger, my father told be about Tornados. Well, I was scared out of my freakin' mind when I found out that something could just rush by at any given minute destroying everything in its path!
That night, I filled my suitcases--many of which said 'Going to Grandmas!' on them (does anyone else remember those?)--with everything: money, pictures, stuffed animals, clothes, whatever.
I fell asleep that night holding the handles to about four suitcases, ready to spring into action in case a tornado came tearing through the house.
The next morning, I woke up and found all my suitcases on the floor.
I used to think that fountains were taps left running all day. Could never work out where all the water used to go to.
I used to believe that when it would rain, God or Jesus. . . or some one in heaven was crying.
When I was young I used to repeatedly ask my Mum what was over a hill we passed on the way to the shops (since it was in a city, it was not immediately obvious). Her reply, since she was anxious to get on, was always "nothing". For at least six months I thought this was literally true, and that the hill really did mark the end of the world. I don't think I really pictured this in an 'yawning abyss' way, but was just terrified that I would also become nothing if I crossed the hill. I only really stopped believing this when we travelled over the hill to go to a friend's birthdfay party, a journey which caused me no little fear.
my family and I were vacationing at the beach, and we were fishing pretty late into the day. I remember looking up and asking my mom how they got all those streetlights into the sky (stars).
