After reading about the solar system one evening and looking at the pictures of each planet on its orbit (shown as an imaginary line), my cousins and I went out to look at the sky. Shortly thereafter we ran indoors to announce to the adults that we had actually seen some of these orbits up there! Well, apparently there were some searchlights being used in the area whose beams we saw moving across the heavens.

I don't know exactly how i got it into my head, but when i was little I thought that rain was caused by airplanes. Well, actually, people in airplanes, throwing buckets of water down. It was rare that an airplane would fly over my neighborhood when I was outside playing, but when one did I jolted inside and watched T.V, in fear that it was going to be pouring buckets soon. Thinking back, I watched alot of T.V.
When my cousin was younger, we taught her to be polite and wave and say hi to people that said hi to her. So when she looked out the window and saw trees swaying.. she waved at them because she thought they were waving at her!

When I was a little girl, I used to believe that sometimes the Moon would break down. The only way NASA could tell it was broken was when it would "smile" at the Earth. NASA would send the astronauts way up there to fix it. Astronauts were REALLY smart because they were the only guys in the whole world who could fix the Moon! My dad went along with it!
When I was little I was so afraid of storms. I remember everytime it would start thundering I would run to my room and grab my special blankie and suck my thumb. When I turned about ten my mom told me that if kids my age were afraid of storms then that meant that they were more likely to get struck by lightening. This scared me so much that I permanently carried around my blanket as I thought that when I had it I wasnt afraid anymore. Well, lets say that my fear of storms wasn't just a small fear it was deeprooted as Id been in a terrible tornado when young.

When I was about 6 years old, I thought that the clouds were formed from the tops of smoke stacks. I wondered how they then got so white and I was told by a friend that God bleached them once they came out.
I used to believe that we lived on the inside of the Earth and that the bumps in footpaths were really the chimneys of other houses underneath us, and I tried to dig a hole in my sandpit to get to them.
