I use to think that the sun and moon were one and the same. I thought in the day time, when it was on, we called it the sun, and at night, when it wasn't as bright, we called it the moon. This was until on a clear day i saw the moon and the sun were separate.

When I was really little my mom told me that when it thindered god was rolling a bowling ball in the sky and when it flashed lightning, the ball hit the pins and when it rained that god was sad because he didn't hit the pins or he got a bad score.

When I was little I was very frightened of thunder - even if it was far away. To stop me being frightened my Mum used to reasure me that any noises that I heard were only Concord.

I only realised this a few years ago (I'm 30!!) when I realised Concord really couldn't fly over us so many times!

When I was about 4 , I asked my mom why it rains and she told me that all these birds had to hold it in for a really long time and when it was decided , they all let off at the same time and it was the rain. I believed that for a good long time.

When I read the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy's house was in where the North and South winds meet, making her safe. I asked my Mom if our house was where the North and South winds meet.

When I was about five years old, I used to think that the world was turned inside out. (i.e. the people walked around on the inside of the earth's crust, instead of the outside.) I also thought that the sun was a small ball in the very center of my inside-out world, about where the earth's core is.

When we were young, we were quite frightened by thunder. Our mum explained us not to worry, that it was only Jesus who was roller-skating on the clouds... That argument definitely made us smiling during rainy days !

i used to believe that the sky was the floor of heaven and it had holes in it. At night, heaven would switch its lights on and they would shine thru the holes and we would see stars...
Not really sure when that ended.

I used to believe that all things people eat or use (money and cars) all came from trees or plants i never realized otherwise until i was about 6 years old. I found this out by asking my mom how a tree could hold a car!! I alos figured it out by asking my dad why he went to work if he could just get money off a tree.

I thought that ice was formed by snow falling down on the water. I tried to make ice that way myself, but it didn't work. Good thing it didn't freeze hard enough to prove me right...

I used to believe that there were porta pottys under the ocean for the fish to use. I thought they waited in line and when it was thier turn, they would swim in and swim out.

I use to believe that if the clouds were gray it was because they were filled with dirt and then the rain came to rinse them off and they'd be white again.

I never figured out that the moon rose and set like the sun until I was about 24 years old. I thought that when the sun went down, we could see the moon only because it was one of the brightest things in the sky. I remember looking up at the night sky several times one night and being really shaken that the moon kept moving.

When i was little i used to believe that mother nature was a rich woman who went around the world planting seeds to make babies!

When I was less than six months old, there was a very powerful tornado that passed within a mile of my house. my mom told me that she had to hide with me under the dining room table. Since then i've had a very bad almost phobic fear of tornadoes. Until i got my facts straight i thought they could just pop up and kill me if i went outside in the dark. i also thought one lived in my bedroom corner and another under my bed. seeing the movie twister when i was 7 did not help and to this day i freak out completely when a bad storm comes.

My aunt had my cousin convinced that clouds were made by sticking cotton balls together with peanut butter and throwing them up into the air.
