I always believed that you had to carry a little hammer in the car when driving through freezing fog. I just couldnt understand how else you would be able to contiue with your journey unless you smashed a little hole in the fog!

When I was a child I used to believe that at the end of the rainbow you could find a pot of gold and other treasures but you only could take it if it was in your field

I though that behind mountains in my town there was a kind of heavenly place with water falls, riots of flowers, fruits -the most delicious in the world-and lovely animals from little birds to enormous elephants. I always kept my secret until now when I posted it.

When I was younger I used to believe that rain comes from two clouds which have had an argument and that rainbow comes from the two clouds which became friends again.

i was told in grade school that there was end to space ... so i often wonder that if spaced ended what was on the other side? ... more space?

— makes you thinknature : outer space

When I was little and the news would talk about "illegal aliens" I thought they seriously meant aliens from outer space! I thought Omigod! Not only are they aliens but they are illegal!

I used to believe that clouds were solid, and when they bumped into eachother that caused thunder and that
lightening was a seperate thing <heehee>.

I also thought that if you said the words 'thunder' or 'lightening' between May and September, that would make it happen and I'd put my fingers in my ears if anyone used those words.

when i was young, i refused to believe what my teacher said that you can't count the stars in the universe. i was so resolved that i can do it before i'm 20, so everynight for almost 3 weeks, i saw to it that i counted at least 20 stars... making a mental note where i "stopped" counting the previous night! I finally stopped when for 3 straight nights it rained heavily and since i saw no stars during that time - i thought the sky wiped away all the stars that i've already counted and no way, i'll start from 1 again!

When I was seven my cousin who disliked me greatly told me that you had to bundle up in the snow because if the snow touched yur skin it would eat holes into like acid. I went sledding and my shoe came off and I ran barefoot into the house screaming about my feet being eaten off. To this day I have a phobia of holes in my skin.

I used to believe…

that if i swang high enough on the swing set at my grandmothers house...i could catch a cloud for her.

I used to believe that tornadoes were gigantic nail-shaped clouds that came down out of the sky and smashed houses. One by one, in a row, the tornado-nail would move up and down smashing all the houses of the neighborhood. Then it would go back into the sky until the next tornado warning

It's actually my sister's belief. Until recently (she's 20) she thought that all chimneys and smokestacks were cloud makers. She's silly.

When as a child I first saw a giant's grave and was told what it was I got utterly confused. I am German and the German word for "giant's grave" contains a rather rarely used synonym for giant ("Huene") which I didn't know then. As I couldn't make anything of it I thought I must have misheard and that surely it meant chickens as the plural of the German word for chicken ("Huehner") kinda sounds like "Huene" (giant). So in order to make sense of it all I imagined some ancient tribe so worshipping chicken that they burried them in huge fancy rock graves. Some grave for a chicken!

When i was small i used to believe that lighting is the flash of camera which god used to take our photograph. And thundering is the shoutng to god fro his mother for wasting the roll in the camera.
