After reading Norse mythology at the library, I thought that Thor was one of God's angels and was put in charge of storms, and that he and God were just playing darts.

My sister told me that thunder was God bowling, and rain was the audience (the angels) clapping. She said the big, loud thunder claps were when He got a strike and when it rained harder, the audience was cheering Him on to hit a strike.

When I was about 4 or 5 i used to believe the Moon followed me. My mom had a Volkswagen Beetle and, when driving at night, I would sit on the back seat, facing the back of the car and update my Mom during the whole trip on the Moon status. "It is still following us", I would say. Sometimes, when she turned on a street where the Moon couldn't be seen, I would tell her that she was going too fast, because the Moon couldn't keep up with us.
My first trip to the beach was when I was 12 years old, to make this a special occation my parents got us a hotel near the ocean. So during the first night there I thought that the water from the ocean was gonna get out of the ocean and we were gonna drawn (because of all the noise from the waves) :P.
A belief from childhood that remained with me until an embarassingly late age, was that the jet stream, that all powerful influence on temperate and arctic weather, was caused by jets whooshing around the planet on intercontinental flights at high altitude.

When I was about 7 or 8 I remember being out on the school field and looking up at the sky and wondering what it looked like from space. I had this image of a blue ball with all the oceans and continents, but with a big fried egg splattered across it. The yolk was the sun and the white was all the clouds.
The belief didn't last all that long but it was incredibly vivid and I still remember it now.
I still don't like fried egg very much either.
When my family and I went on outtings, I used to think that we were special because the sun followed us wherever we went.
