I used to believe that Star Trek was an actual part of the Space Program, that was just using more Advanced Equipment than the Apollo moon shots.

I used to believe that the trees made the wind. My logic was based on learning that trees are living things and since their leaves would flutter and the trees would sway when it was windy, I believed that the trees where making the wind.

My daughter told me that she thought the falling snow was caused when the clouds got cold and krinkled up and fell to earth. (this is in fact fairly accurate!)

I grew up in the North West. On Foggy days, Mount Hood was not visible. My sister told me that on these days that the mountain was actually gone... borrowed by people from Kansas where they don't have any mountains. She pointed out the lines on the mountain where it came apart like a puzzle. it was then loaded onto trucks and driven across country. Sometimes they borrowed it for days at a time, but ususally they brought it back the next day. I believed this until I was almost nine years old.

Tell 10 years old I really believed that the moon was made of cheese, and that it is very easy to get there. I also believed that if you jump high enough, you can fly. I had great moments jumping and thinking that, I still remember the feeling of almost flying, great imagination can make you feel wonderful sometimes-

I used to live in a trailer and was terrified that in the case of a tornado or hurricane that my house (with me in it) would just blow away altogether. Finally my neighbors gave me the key to thier basement so I could go there when it was windy! Wow-Concrete!

I used to believe that the foam found on the shores of many lakes were that of the alligators that lived there.

While riding in the car with my mother one night (around 5 years old) I came to the conclusion that the moon followed me.

I didn't believe that about the sun, though, because my mother had already informed me that "the sun doesn't rise and set for Sandra."

I used to think our gray furry cat was somehow related to the blooms on our backyard pussy willow tree! I think I got the idea since cats are also called "pussy" cats...

I used to believe that when I lay on the grass on my back on a summers'day and watched the white clouds roll across the sky-that I was actually experiencing the earth spinning.
I really thought I could feel the earth moving beneath me. It was wonderful and greatly humbling at the same time.

I used to believe that only the surface of water was wet, and that eveything underneath was dry. The reason you get wet when you leave the water was because you had to go through the surface. No one has really convinced me yet that I am wrong.

I used to believe the side railings in public (handicapped) restroom stalls were there just in case of an earthquake. Wanting to be careful, if I wasn't allowed to use that particular stall, I would 'go' really, really fast - in fear that a quake would hit while I was indesposed. (Point to note: I grew up in East Tennessee - and have never felt an earthquake.)

When I was very young I used to think that the rays of sunshine that came through the clouds was God touching the earth.

Needless to say now I'm an athiest.

when i was little i used to think that the wind was made by the trees, because they moved when the wind blowed.

I used to think that if you yelled during a thunderstorm (here in North Texas, we have a lot), that that would make the thunder happen. Well, if I hollered out the window during a storm, it did thunder eventually, right? Even if it was sometimes a delayed reaction. So, I would sit by my bedroom window durinf thunderstorms and yell out the window, making it thunder until my mom would come into my room and tell me to stop making all that noise.

When I got my glasses at age 4, I was stunned to find: trees were not solid objects of green.....that turned colors in the Fall, and fell to the ground in the shape of leaves. I also was surprised to find: adults did not have solid teeth. I couldn't see the inidividual outlines of the teeth, so I thought as a child, you got them one at a time, but as you grew older.....they must unite into a solid white mass.

When I was 3 I had my own explanation about day and night: The earth was a tinny ball into a giant's mouth. When the giant's was yawned, the light was coming into his mouth and it was day, otherwise it was night !

Well, I used to believe that it was raining because God was irrigating his flowers, which were dibbled on the clouds. When the sky was clear, the God's garden had just mooved to an other place :-)
