I grew up near Bisbee AZ which is an old mining town. In the center of the city is a HUGE pit kinda like a mini grand canyon, well my uncle told me that they had dug out all that earth to make the penninsula of florida. Seemed reasonable to me at age 10 or so. The next time we drove by it I said "did you guys know......" my family let me go on talking about it for a while before informing me I was a gullible moron. My family is mean.

when i was little i told my brother that when it rained it was gods toilet overflowing

I used to believe that thunder was the noise that clouds made when they bumped into each other. I didn't realise this wasn't true until I was 24 and on holiday with my boyfriend and his family. There was a big thunder storm and everyone thought it very funny when I explained what I thought... thanks Mum.

When I was little, I thought I could controll the sun and the clouds. Thus, whenever the clouds covered up the sun, it was my responsibility to move the clouds past the sun. So, by staring at the clouded sun (not directly at the sun), I would concentrate really hard, urging the clouds to pass. Of course, it worked, and I believed that I had magical powers regardless of how the clouds move on their own accord.

When i was about 8 my neighbor told me that if you lifted your arms up from your sides and made them touch above your head and bring them back down multiple times it would make rain not fall where you were standing it had some magical power that would stop the rain from falling in your spot.

I used to think that lightening would folow you up the stairs and zap you, and that if you had a cat on your lap during a thunderstorm , the lightening would find you.

When i was around 8-9 my friends showed me these flowers and when they hadnt bloomed you twisted it from the bottom and pulled through the inner part and sucked it they said it was honey and that when the flower bloomed the bees took it all.
i thought this was true for over a year until my mum corrected me

When I was 4 or 5 I used to think that the wind came from trees, that somehow, the trees were moving and fanning the earth... My mom had to explain that it was the other way around.

i used to believe you would find a little guy in green and give you gold if you got to the end of a rainbow n then he would let you eat a piece of raibow.
i tought it would taste like gushers and that i would bye a castle with that gold.
so when i was 6 i ran 2 blocks trying to chase the rainbow, i just got tierd and thought maibe when im 18 i will cach one.

well im 19... LOL

When patches of fog would form in the hills of eastern PA, my dad would tell me that the rabbits were having carrot roasts and the patches of fog in the trees was the smoke from their fires. I believed that until I was almost a teenager.

I used to believe that when the clouds were catching the sunlight in just the right way that it would appear "beams" were coming from the heavens, that it was God's way of saying it was going to be a good day. I wish I still had that kind of faith in things like "good days" as I did then.

There was a small forest and a lake near my home and there was a huge tree with a hole in it and all the kids believed that it's the gate way to hell. One girl told us that she entered it and saw weird things and barely escaped and we was thinking she is so cool because of it...

I used to believe that the Earth had a finite number of clouds. In other words, I thought that rainclouds just drifted around from one place to another, carried by the wind. When it stopped raining, that meant that the rainclouds had just blown somewhere else. I still remember the day I was watching a little cloud alone in the sky and it melted away, and I thought, "Where did it go? What a minute...clouds disappear?!"

Near my city, Cleveland, there is a huge factory that creates massive ammounts of polution and smoke. It spews out of this large pipe outside of a building constantly. I always thought that was what made the clouds. I talked to my boyfriend about it and he thought the same thing when he was young.

When I was about two or three years old, there was an area that a fire had gone through and it burnt the tops of the trees and all the bushes ect. Well, my daddy would tell me that dinosaurs ate the tops of the trees off a long time ago, and that they never grew back. Eventually I learned it wasn't true.
To this day the tree tops haven't grown back yet lol.

When I was about 7 or 8 (I'm 23 now) some friends of my parents owned a flea market. Me and my older sister and my uncle (who is only a year older than me) would all go outside at the back of the flea market and there was nothing there except rocks and red mud. One day we saw dog tracks and my uncle convinced me they were dinosaur tracks and that we had entered Dinosaur Land. So every day we could we would be out there looking for the dinosaurs, we never saw them. And I truly believed until I was old enough to know better that we were in Dinosaur Land. I was so disappointed when I realized the truth. lol

My grandma had a huge vase filled with cattails in her entryway. Not wanting us kids to tear them up, she told us not to touch them or they would explode. I lived in mortal fear of those cattails for years thinking I would blow up the whole neighborhood if I accidently touched them.
