My dad used to tell me that thunder was God rearraning His furniture and lightning was a little kid in Heaven flicking the lightswitch on and off.

As a very small child one day, I was playing at being 'fairy thunder drop' this involved spinning round rapidly and singing about thunder and so forth. Shortly afterwards, a thunder storm started and I was absolutely convinced i had caused it. i cried for hurs ad never played 'fairy thunder drop' again

I also used to believe that the song "Rain Rain, Go Away," could actually make the rain go away if sung enough times! Many were the times when I would stand by the window, dutifully, singing "Rain rain, go away, come again another day. All the children want to play... Rain rain, go away," etc. When the rain stopped, I used to think it was because of my singing "Rain Rain, Go Away." In my defence, I was only five at the time!

Before I began kindergarten, I believed the earth was a massive land with lots of giant ponds splashed around here and there. I was absolutely devasted at seeing how small it was on a teacher's globe. I still remember seeing how small the continents were, surrounded by all of the blue, and felt so small and meaningless.

I used to think that the flower, called bugenveilia (i dont know how to spell it, but it is spelt really weird.), i always thought that it was booger vanilla, and now i can not call it by the real name, it sounds too weird.

I used to believe that my choice of pyjamas to wear would determine the following day's weather.

I used to believe that we lived inside the earth (a bit like a snowglobe), and that the ozone layer was the earth's crust. I remember being told about the problem with holes in the ozone layer, which I assumed were caused by rockets going into space and having to smash through it.

When I was five, a tidal wave made big headlines. I asked my dad what a tidal wave was and he told me it was a giant wave caused by whale farts. I continued to believe this until 4th grade when we learned about tidal waves, but I only learned the truth after blurting out, "tidal waves are caused by whales that have eaten too much beans!"
