I used to believe that if you sniffed a flower for too long, then all the delicious scent would go away. So whenever my mom asked me if I wanted to smell the flower, I would only kind of smell it, in fear of it losing all it's scent

I used to believe that a lemon grows up to be sweet lime and that a donkey grows up to be a horse......weird but true.

I used to think if you walk far enough to the rainbow, there will be pot of gold
I'm a big Wizard Of Oz fan. And when I was little I used to believe that if you were outside during a tornado (even though Dorothy was inside) it would suck you up into OZ.
i am from Sri Lanka.
When i was young i had no idea that the earth was a shere.
i thought the sea went and fell like a great waterfall, and that is why we do not see anything beyond the horizon.
also i used to believe that India was at the bottom of this great waterfall
i used to believe that there was a planet with identical people from earth on it. for example: there was an exact replica of me, my parents, friends, everyone. and they were doing the exact same thing at the exact same time. i dont know why.
I used to believe that when I looked up to the sky was actually looking at the ocean on the other side of the world (which went hand-in-hand with the fact that I used to believe we lived INSIDE the earth, not on it).

Back in kindergarden, my friend and me used to run after snowflakes, yelling at them. We imagined they would get frightened and thus multiply to "defend" themselves. And that was just what we wanted - the more snow, the better.
When I was little I thought that the moon was put up in the sky by two guys on a ladder, and that's why it was always a different shape, they put up whatever shape they wanted and they left it there for a while before changing it again.
When I was about 4 My Brother showed me the movie Jack and the Beanstalk, and I knew my mother had some beanstalks in the garden. I was so scared that the giant would come down and kill me and my family, that when it got dark, I picked up a little flashlight, went to the backyard, and hacked that plant to death. Years later I found out that my mother had brought those (some rare variety) beanstalk seeds back from England.
Also, for years afterward I was terribly afraid of trees. I figured if he can climb down a beanstalk, he certainly can climb down a tree.
I used to believe that whenever it rained, god was pissing on the world.
i used to think that england was the only country on the world and other countries were flying around space i also used to think that because the world is a sphere that we were in side the earth an if you drive to the egde youll drive up the side of the eart and end up were u began lol
My dad had me convinced that dark storm clouds were actually webs for monstrous "cloud spiders." The first time I flew straight into one of those clouds as a kid (dad was a small-plane pilot), I was terrified and convinced we were flying into a web. Dark clouds still freak me out.
Up until middle school, whenever someone said "Wind Chill Factor" I thought it was wind shield factor, until one winter I wanted to go outside and play in the snow, and someone told me "but the wind chill factor is 3 degrees" and I said "Don't worry, we won't go near the wind shield".

I used to believe that hot water was red and cold water was blue.
When I was in kindergarden I was sure that our astronauts had travelled to Mars and the other planets. I remember thinking that the red sand I saw in a decorative glass jar must have been brought back by the astronauts on one of their missions to Mars.
At some point, my Dad must have told me that North was towards our house (because we must've been south of it at the time). But from that point on, I thought that north was toward my home, no matter where I was. At some point, I realized that from my backyard, the house was really East, but I had been living with the unshakeable conviction that this was North for as long as I could remember.
Whenever I saw jets pass by, I noticed that they left a trial of white stuff behind it. I figured that the sky must be low on clouds and Jesus was flying around to make more. Whenever a jet passed over, I would run out of the house to see Jesus fly by.
I used to believe that when it thundered it was God getting angry and throwing stuff about... I also thought that sheet lightning was actually called sheep lightning lol
