I always thought there was some guy on a tall ladder watering the clouds.

I used to have a reoccuring dream that I would be digging a hole and then someone would say you've disrupted the o-zone layer and then my body would become disfigured, like looking into a mirrior at a fun house. I was afriad of the o-zone laywer and digging holes until years later when I learned in school that the o-zone layer was not a layer of dirt.

As a kid it was always my dream to go on a space ship (which I pictured like an airplane) and ask the piolit to stop right as we were entering earth so when I looked out my window half would be outer space and half would be earth, as if there was a distinct line seperating the two. I thought that was the coolest thing ever.

When I learned that the universe never ended, I couldn't grasp the concept because I had been taught nothing lasts forever. So for years I imagine the universe suddenly ending by a big wall and then there was nothing but white on the other side.

I used to believe that the sky was a blue 'roof' on top of the world and that all you had to do was fly high enough and you could touch it.

I didn't think too hard about what happened at night, tho.

I used to believe that thunder was the angels bowling, so I assumed a few other things, too. Lightning was either them having disco bowling, or somebody was dropping lightbulbs on the ground. And of course, all that bowling made them thirsty, so they had to have water! Rain was them dropping their drinks, and hail and snow was the ice in the water! Tornados were fans turned on, too.

When i was about 5-6, i thought factories expelling white smoke were making clouds for a sunny weather while factories producing black smoke were producing rain clouds and would cause the rain to come soon. It never occured to me that different factories come out with different coloured smoke. I thought it was according to the weather they wanted that day. So i would pretty disappointed if i didn't want it to rain but saw a factory producing black "clouds".

I used to believe…

that I was so greedy, After Thunderstorms and I could see a rainbow, that I would run to the nearest end of the rainbow to find the pot of gold.

There was tree outside my house when I was younger that I believed was Mother Nature because I thought the branches made a face. I said hi to her all the time, so she would be happy and make it snow.

When i was a little girl i used to believe that God lives on the moon. if i got upset about something i go outside so we could look at each other and tell him about it... and i admit i still have that connection with the moon to this day. it does make me feel better looking at it.

I used to believe that mountains grew from tiny seeds, just like trees and plants.

I used to believe that grass grew into trees. When we first moved into our home, there was a small tree in the front lawn that eventually grew very large. I noticed that my father would mow the lawn every week, because, he said, "Otherwise the grass will get too tall." I asked why he didn't mow the tree and he said "because we want it to get bigger." Since I liked the tree, I would beg him not to mow the lawn, so that we could have a forest in our front yard.

I knew a girl who thought the moon was just the sun at night. It burned during the day and went out at night.

I used to think (because I was told by my dad) that when it rains while the sun is shining, the devil is whipping his wife.

I believed for the longest time that you could find out how old a tree is be counting the leaves. The really strange part is that I was told this by my teacher.

In Thailand, I used to (probably still do) believe that if you point your finger at the Moon, it will come down at midnight and cut the bottom part of your ear.

Funny how I remember I also got cut once. Huh?
