I used to believe that when it rained, it actually was raining all over the world, when it was day it was all over the world and the same at night.
I also had figured out how raindrops were formed! God had this really huge bucket which had tiny holes at the bottom so when he wanted to rain he would simply take the bucket, fill it with water and hold it over the world!

Also, in the song "sweet dreams" by Eurythmics, i was hearing "sweet dreams are made of cheese" which i found very strange because cheese is not sweet.

"Dad, where did the hills come from?"
"The glaciers left them there."

Ahhh...then "glaciers" must be an ancient race of giants. Naturally.

When I was a child I used to think that the reason of wind were trees which were moving. Everybody knows that trees are alive! : ) Why can't they move..?

When I was younger, my mom has dumped out some of those flat marbles that you put in fish tanks to make it look pretty in the backyard. A few years later I was playing back there and I found one. It had been hailing earilier that day, and I thought it was a colored hailstone that hadn't melted yet. I stuck it in the freezer.

A few days later, it was gone.

I thought my cat ate it.

i used to think that if you jumped on the ground hard enough, you would break it and the ocean would be underneath and there would be loads of sharks swimmig around!!

This was actually a friends belief when we were 11 or so. She believed that if there was an earthquake people in planes would feel it because cracks would from in the sky and knock the plane out of the sky.

A couple of weeks ago it was snowing, so me and a friend were talking about snow and then got onto the subject of grit. I think I said something like 'isn't it great how grit only falls on the roads'. That's right, I thought grit came down from the sky like rain whenever it snowed. My friend quickly caught onto this and told me about grit clouds...I happily believed him and spent most of the night looking for the grit clouds, whcih were bound to come as it was snowing.....I'm 15 years old

When I was little, whenever the clouds covered the sun, I used to think that it was because the sun had to shine else where in the world or else it wouldn't be fair if my house had all the sunshine.

As a kid, my little cousin had poison ivy, and I was told that I'd get it too if he touched me. Needless to say he chased me around his house all day, and I was shocked when he caught me, tagged me, and I didn't immediately start itching or break out in hives.

When I was a toddler, I used to think the full moon was a giant Ritz cracker and the quarter moons were God's fingernail coming through the sky.

My friend used to believe that snowflakes were very big - only slightly smaller than dinner plates. He is from Florida but now attends college with me in the Midwest. He thought the little white specks, as seen in movies, were merely small ice crystals, not real snowflakes. Only during a recent snowstorm did he figure out the truth.

He is a very bright engineering student and is eighteen years old.
