As a child I witnessed a strange phenomenon called a ' mother of pearl sky' which is only seen something like once in every 100 years. It's a bit like the northern lights except you can see it in every colour of the rainbow.
I thought that the weather had been so windy that the sides of a rainbow had been split open and the colours had been spilt everywhere like paint.

When I was around the age of 4 When it used to rain really heavily I thought God was crying. So every night it rained I would pray and tell him "everythings going to be okay" -- Bless.

I used to believe…

That I could control the wind by talking to it sweetly. When the breeze failed to come on my request I put it down to the wind being temprimental (like me).

When I was young, during a thunderstorm I used to think that God was going to work with his briefcase and that is why I thought that thunder sounded like that

I used to believe that if you dressed up like a rainbow, rainbows wouldnt move if you got closer to them because they'd think you were their own 'species'. I asked my grandma to sew me one and cried when she told me she couldnt!

I was going to elementary school at the time when I believed the world was flat and because I lived where mountains surrounded me, I thought that they were what kept you from falling off. I was so confused when we finally went through the mountains to get to the other side...I realized sometime after that, that the world was actually a sphere!

I used to believe that whenever it rained out, the angels were crying from heaven

When I was small I thought that when it rained it was because God was crying because someone had dyed. Whenever it rained I thought to myself 'I wonder who dyed today'. How stupid was I!

On cloudy days me and my friends used to stand with our hands clasped together, pointed at the sky, to make the clouds part and the sun come out. But you had to really be thinking about the clouds parting and really wanting it to be sunny. We said we were sunbeams. And if someone was sulky and refused to help we said they were rain beams and would make the weather bad.

I used to believe that rainbows followed me around. Whenever I saw a rainbow in the sky, I would walk with it and "take it to my friend's house so she could see it"... I'd actually walk around talking to it and guiding it. LOL!

I live in Arizona so when I was little, we were always told to watch out for the jumping cacti. My next-door neighbor had a jumping cactus in his front yard, so my friends and I would take turns going up to it to see if it would "jump" at us(I didnt know you actually had to touch it and it just breaks easily). It never "jumped" at me so I felt superior and would brag to my friends that it liked me.

In elementary school we were told that a tornado approaching sounded similar to the sound of a train. I took this as meaning the toot of a train- not the chug noise....I let my family in on my knowledge to warn them... but from that point on, every time my cousin and I were playing outside and a train in the distance tooted it's horn, she would run inside and lock me out, yelling that it was too late!! She couldn't open the door because of the tornado.. I cried and cried and held on to the railing waiting for the gust of wind to come and take me away...
