I used to believe the Moon followed me because Jesus was driving it. I thought he was in the center of the Moon, and he could see me. I cried out of fear every time my family went driving at night until I was 8.

when I was around 5/6 I didn't know what a drought was back in the 70's so I thought if I took a cup of water outside and poured it into the street gutter that it would find a stream somewhere and add to that to fill up the other streams which led to rivers,ponds,lakes,etc... and finally end up in the ocean.Uh... nope..My mom wondered back then what on earth I was doing making sporadic trips with a cup of water. Then she told me the truth. Man I must of made about 3 dozen trips every so often thinking I was ''helping'' !!

when I was younger and it was storming at night, I thought that I did something terribly wrong during daytime and made GOD or Mother Nature real angry at me. I would lie in bed covering up/hiding from the lightning and thunder and pull all my stuffed animals around me so they could ''protect'' me! Sometimes I even hid under my bed and would sleep there! I even apologized to GOD and Mother Nature and begged for forgiveness repeatedly until either the storm stopped or I fell asleep first! OH BOY! was I ever an idiot!

i thought clouds were marshmellows that were dropped. I also thought that angels accidentally mixed blue dye with the air, making it blue. I thought that trees were just over sized flowers and taht the trunk was like a stem that was hardened. I believed that rivers were made by giants' tears and they made oceans as well. I also believed that earthquakes were them walking. I thought taht giants made mountains as their sandcastles. i thoguht alot.

When i ws little, my mom told me about floods and how the water goe up really high. Whenever she talked to me about this, i would imagine the water going above our roof, and we'd have to swim all the way up to survive and not drown. I always hoped there wouldn't be a flood because my baby sister didn't know how to hold her breath, and i wasn't sure i could swim all the wy up without passing out and dying.

my friend had a teacher who was convinced that the world really was flat, and for a while he had her convinced too! until she figured out that, logically, that can't really be true what with the orbits around the sun, and such

When I was 11 I used to think that if you put an orange in the fridge and then went to bed with your shirt backwards it would snow. I've tried it never works.

My sister and dad would tell me that hills, were giants that were burried. The hill that our house was on was the Jolly Green Giant's Father.

When the oil stains on the roads are washed away by the rain, they look all very colourful, rainbow like. I used to believe, back in 1969, that they were the product of the rain washing the moon...

I believed the sun and the moon were the same thing, just rotated to change from day to night.

When I was about six I used to believe the smoke stacks were cloud makers and that's how the clouds were formed.

I used to believe that clouds represented recently deceased animals. If I looked at the sky and saw clouds that looked like for example a rabbit, I'd be 100% sure that a rabbit had just died. I also thought that the white clouds were happy and died a normal death, while a darker cloud was angry and had maybe been killed by something else.

I always thought there were 2 seasons in a year. There was summer, that lasted 3 months, and winter, which was the remaining 9 months.

when i was little i was outside in the rain trying to catch it on my toung and my brother told me it was the pee airplans dump and i freaked out and kept spitting and later asked my mom and she laughed and said no it wasnt so i went and yelled at my brother

When people would use the term in the 40's, 50's 60's,etc. to describe the temperature outside. I thought it meant that was the decade people were acting like. Like if you said it's supposed to be in the 70's today, I would have thought there'd be men with afros, and women rollerskating outside! I finally figured it out after watching the weather channel one day.

I used to believe that the stars sang. When they came out in the evening, the chirping would begin; first one star, then two, then a whole host of them, chirping to different rythms, then for one breathtaking moment, singing in unison. The songs used to have words in my head, little repeated phrases like "flower pretty" or "Standard Oil." (I remember being amazed that the stars knew my Daddy was a pilot for Standard Oil. How did they know that?)

I was living in California. Later I found out the sounds I was hearing were made by crickets that came out to chirp as the sun set. I still cherish the sound of crickets today.
