When I was a kid I thought that when there was a thunderstorm the angels were playing a game of Family Feud in two teams of four up in heaven. God was hosting that game. I thought that whenever a contestant gave an answer that was not on the board and was a strike was when a lightning strike actually happened. I also assumed that the sound of thunder was the sound of the audience either booing to for an answer that was a strike or cheering for the family for winning the round. Rain came from the tears from the family of angels who were beaten.

After studying meteors at school I was sure that a meteor was going to land on our house. After a week of sleepless nights my mum asked my teacher to tell us that this is very unlikely to actually happen.

On cloudy days, I used to believe that God had kept his "blinds" shut because he wasn't dressed.

I thought that lightening was God taking pictures.

I also believed that thunder was God yelling at the Angels for not cleaning their rooms.

As a rather precocious youngster, I had read in an illustrated astronomy book that in 4 billion years or so the Sun would red giant and swallow up the Earth. Since I didn't really understand how much time 4 billion years is, I thought this could happen any day. I had nightmares for months, and my mom didn't believe that that was the reason for them (not something normal kids have).

When I was probably 4, one of my dad's co-wrokers told me there were fish in the lake that liked biting toes Well later on some of my parents friends had said how a fish had deflated their pontoon by biting it. I didn't go near the water for a long long time.... to this day I can't be in a lake by myself!!

My Grandfather used to tell me that when it thundered the angels in Heaven had knocked over their potatoe barrels and spilled out all the potatoes, and I always thought that that must be one humongous, gigantic barrel and a bunch of clumsy angels.

It wasn't until 2 years ago that I found out it snowed on the Jersey shore. And I'm 22 and live in Pennsylvania.

I really thought that every beach everywhere was warm and tropical year round.

I believed that the weather was always the same throughout the world. So, if it was raining where I lived then it was raining everywhere else.

When I was young, I thought I could touch the clouds by climbing to the top of the jungle-gym.
