An aunt of mine told me that laburnum could kill me (because of its poisonous seeds/flowers). She didn't specify *how* it could kill me though, so I thought it... radiated deadly gases or something. I'd get horribly panicky if I had to walk past a laburnum tree in someone's garden or something, ever.
My little brother once was in the car with the sun in his eyes. He told me to shut it off.
Another time, he was lying on the couch, and the sun was in his eyes again. He told me to close the window, and I told him that it wouldn't matter if the window was closed; it's made of glass. He then demanded that I pick him up and reposition him so that he wasn't facing the window. Are all kids that lazy when they're five?

i convinced my brother that smoke stacks are where clouds came from.
When i was little i used to think that smoke stacks where cloud machines. I thought that the put all the clouds in the sky during the day and sucked them back in during the night.
When i was little i used to think the moon fallowed my moms car as we drove down the road. I never understood why it would be following our car.

I used to believe that when you were looking at a full moon, you were really looking at the other side of the Earth.

When I was little, I went shopping with my gramma and she said she wanted me to help plant egg plants. I wondered how in the world eggs would come from the ground. " How do you grow egg plants?" I asked. "Well you grab some eggs and put them in a hole in the ground." Not knowing she was joking, I went home and grabbed all 12 eggs to plant. She laughed real hard when she figured out I did that. Now she asks me to plant them every summer.
When I was little there was a small tornado by where I lived. I remember thinking of a big robot with a tornado picture on it. And when everyone said the mountains would stop it from coming, I pictured it exploding right before it hit the mountains.

I always believed the tide came in at night, and went out again in the morning so that there'd be room for people to lie on the beach during the day.

When I was little, I used to believe that the world moved under my feet as I walked, I didn't travel over the world, it spun under me.
When I was in preschool, I believed in the man in the moon, which was on what would've been the first ever Wiggles CD, I think (it wasn't actually a song, it was a recording of one of the guys from the Wiggles talking about the man in the moon). I can still remember the bit where he says "The man in the moon has no hair!" which was the bit that my brother and I always laughed at. I believed that when it was night time, the man in the moon would have his light on, which was the reason why the moon glowed.
I used to believe that when it rained, it was because someone who lived beyond earth was straining pasta they had just cooked. And the clouds which bore the rain was the steam from the cooking of the pasta.
I used to believe that the white stuff that comes out of dandelions was poisonois or toxic. The only reason I found out otherwise was that a friend and I decided to feed it to my little sister. In hindsight, I thank my lucky stars that it wasn't poison! Hey, I was 5 years old!
