I used to think that up in outer space the sun was a gigantic baby that never grew up like in Teletubbies.
I used to believe that people died because the paper compaines were cutting down trees! (you know how trees give off oxygen!?)
Whe i was younger I used to believe that when it was really hot and you started sweating, you were melting very slowly so we had winter to make us stick together again. Like ice!!! LOL
I devised a huge theory of what the earth is composed of simply because of the word 'lavatory'.
In first grade, our teacher would line us up to go to what she called "the lavatory". I had never heard a bathroom called such a thing, and I immediately understood that I was uncovering some ancient science that only I knew: lava was made of wee and poo and that in going to the bathroom, we were in fact "making lava". I was very smug about this hidden knowledge.
The next year, we learned about the layers of the earth, and of course "lava" was just another word for #1 and #2. All the plumbing must reach below the Earth's crust and pour all the "lava" into this ever-expanding pocket of sewage! I was always afraid of digging holes because I thought if I dug too far, the world would be flooded in poop. Volcanoes were disgusting, and I was very grateful that I didn't live anywhere near one.
I used to think that when it was thundering outside it was the angels bowling and strikes were lightening. so whenever the lightening came, I would cheer for God. My mom thought I was a little strange...
Once my mom put a cup of iced water on the table. Due to a process that we all know now, there was some water around and under the cup. My four-year-old sister pointed to it and said," Mum! the cup's melting!"
when i was little i believed that if you got your clothes wet then you ruined them. i would lways fear of walking in the rain. and oh gosh! AVOID SPRINKLERS!!
i used to believe that god was having a wee when it rained and the thunder was the chain was being flushed also i thaught lightning was god throwing angles from the sky so fast they turned blue and you could not see them
When I was younger, I thought that a hurricane was a big spaceship looking thing( kinda like a submarine) that had 3 big holes on the bottom of it that opened and closed and had long benches on both sides where people could sit. I thought that when it struck, it would suck the people up into it and when i heard people talking about sending blankets and food to hurricane victims, that we would place boxes of the items where the spaceship was and it would suck the boxes right up.
When I was little I used to think that the salt water in the ocean was sand water with no salt. I used to think that people called it salt water because the sand looked like salt.
When I was little, and it would rain I thought the angels were peeing!
When i was a kid, i used to believe that the tress waving their branches was what caused the wind, because it was never windy unless the trees were waving their branches :)

When I was young I used to believe that when a tree lost it's leaves in autumn, It meant that the leaves turned into crows and ravens so they could fly away.
I used to believe that thunder was cause by Mother Nature bowling, and lightning was because she had a strike. I convinced all my friends too.
When my mom was little she saw an oil rig next to a K-mart. She asked what it was and my grandma thought she was talking about the store, so she told my mom that it was a K-mart. It wasn't until years later that she figured out it was an oil rig.
I took a streak as a child of being very afraid of pine cones. I remember once thinking that they might carry diseases that they could spread to people. It might have started with a rather scary dream I once had. In the dream i was at a picnic area, collecting pine cones to take home. My father was insisting that only pine cones with a maximum of eight rows of scales within their length were safe to keep.
when i was younger when it would rain outside. i use to believe that god was crying and when it was sunny he forgot the light on.
My older sister told me during a rainstorm that thunder was just the angels blowing their noses.
I'm 40, and to this day I've never been afraid of thunder.
