When looking at the clouds and seeing them move I use to think it was the world rotating beneath.

My younger brother used to be afraid of shooting stars. This is because he thought that if you eyed a shooting star, it would actually shoot you with a gun!

When we used to drive past farmlands with those giant circular haybales that look like Shredded Wheat cereals, I thought that the farmers had grown them, like lettuce. I wondered how it was done, because the times I tried planting Shredding Wheats in the ground nothing came up..

When I was a child I believed that when people said California would fall into the ocean with the next bit earthquake, that the whole state would break off from the rest of the U.S. and sink.

I used to believe that when it was foggy outside, that meant that the clouds had lowered themselves to "human level". I thought this because I had remebered that when I was flying in a plane, and I looked out the window, and it looked like the fog and my parents said we were flying through the clouds, so I just assumed...:)

my mum and dad used to tell me that when it was thunder and lightning God was moving his furniture or using the toilet.
I was very gullible.

Chain link fences were called Cyclone fences when I was a kid (or maybe that was a brand name). I used to wonder how cyclone fences kept cyclones out and why we didn't have one to protect us.

I grew up in Califonia in the 70's, when they were always trying to predict when an earthquake would hit. Living near the coast I was terrified at the prediction in which California would fall into the pacific, and rumor had it that beach front property was being sold in Arizona..On the night of one such prediction, that most people "poo pooed," including my parents, I gathered a few snacks and a jacket and headed up the street to my best friend Theresas'. I pleaded, "Are you going with me to Arizona or not?!" Thinking of course that Arizona was just beyond the hills near my home.....

I used to believe that if I looked out of the window in the early hours of the morning when it was just getting light, I could see a big evil looking eye in the sky (it was obviously a cloud I'd once seen!) which was staring directly at me.

I vividly remember seeing it in the sky! This freaked me out for years...

I used to think that all the planets looked like what they were named after. Mars looked like a giant candy bar, Pluto was a cartoon dog, etc. Some were tough, like Saturn, (which I eventually figured out looked like a car). You can imagine what Uranus looked like...

When I was in the firt and second grade I used to think that a Tornadoe was a giant Tomatoe that came rolling through town crashing peoples houses.

I used to think that the oil refinery in my town was where clouds where made as they seemed to be constantly emerging from the smoke stacks.

when I was young I used to think that whatever shape you saw in the clouds was something that used to live and heaven formed its shape in the sky so people could remember.

When I was young, I would ask my mother where my father was hunting. She would tell me Oh, on top of the hill. I would spen hours staring at the skyline just waiting for dad to come walking up over the tree tops. You see, to me the hills looked like a carpet, and I really believed I would see him walking up over the hill.
