I specifically remember looking out at the sky on our porch one night...it was cloudy, but the clouds blended in with the sky, and so I figured it was just a starless sky.
So I turn to my grandmother, and tell her "The stars ran out of batteries!"
Later on I found out that stars did not run on batteries at all, but it was fun to think while it lasted.
One day a friend and I were playing in my backyard when we found a tomato worm. For those of you that have never seen one of these it looks like a large, green and thorny caterpiller. But We thought it was a baby alien and squished it with a stick before it could take over our brains

When I was a kid I believed that the man on the moon got there by being a construction worker. He was laying the last brick on a high rise building and a crescent moon came along and hooked him. He stayed up there because he was too scared to tell his boss he dropped the last brick.
Somewhere out there is an unfinished high rise!
In Mexico, the words "rocket" and "fireworks" can be used as synonymous. So, I USED to believe that fireworks could take us to the outer space and in traditional holidays, (where is common use fireworks), I didn't want to go out to celebrate because I was afraid that these "fireworks" take me to outer space and I wouldn't back to my home.
