When I was about 5 or so, I used to believe that when it was raining it was God who would be bathing and the water would be running down the drains which was the clouds. Even up to now I can't figure out where I got that idea.

I used to think that weather presenters actually made the weather. This was the case in the days when they used a map with stick-on icons instead of computer graphics, and I used to be annoyed at them when they put rain clouds on the map!

When I was little I used to believe that the snow came down from the mountain instead of the sky...cause all the older people would look up at the snow line and say the snow is coming down the mountain

I used to believe that a tornado was the Big Bad Wolf (from Three Little Pigs) driving around in a police car. Living in Kansas, we had quite a few tornadoes... One, in particular, came pretty close to our house. When the warnings were issued, my mom called me in from playing outside, but before I could go in I had to go to the end of the driveway and look down the street for the "tornado". I told my mom I didn't see it coming, but had to go in anyway. Imagine my surprise when I saw the real thing!

once, when me and my twin sister were little, there were really strong winds, so we asked my dad if the roof was going to blow off. he said it might, and since me and hers room is on the top floor, we were really scared. that night we collected all our teddies and blankys into our pillow cases and sat for hours waiting to the roof to blow off. we loved our teddies so much, we had to save them lol. after a while, we went to sleep, hugging our pillow cases stuffed with teddies. our roof didnt blow off in the end!!

My mom told me that rain would help me grow... at a small 5'3" the reality set in quickly.

When I was very young, I thought snow came out of street lights. Which, in theory makes sense; I couldn't see it until it fell below the light. I didn't know why they "snow lights" only worked for part of the year, though...

When we were about 6, my best friend and I used to think that whenever we saw a rainbow, we could make different colors appear in it by throwing different colored trash in the gutter at the end of the road. It really seemed to work...

I used to stare out of the window of my apartment when I was a kid, looking at the clouds as they moved across the sky. I used to believe that they were all going to visit the Blue Fairy and I wished that I could join them as well.

when my mom and dad would talk about the weather they would say the were calling for rain so i thought that people would call the weather channel and tell them to make it rain

My mom led my 2 younger sisters and I to believe that if you pointed at a rainbow you would make it dissappear and that was bad luck. I don't know about my sisters, but I still will NOT point at a rainbow!

I used to think my mum really meant it when she said "it's raining cats and dogs". I still can't help imagining cat and dog rain every time I hear that expression!

When I was a kid, I think about 8. I used to believe that whenever it rains God is probably crying. Not untill I reched high school that I learned that my belief can be explained scientificaly.

As a little kid, I always thought clouds were made out of mashed potatoes. I'd stand outside and think about what the clouds tasted like.

That there was real gold at the end of the rainbow,

that it rained because the clouds were having a bath and letting out their dirty water

my mum used to say that if you made lots of noise when you saw a rainbow it would frighten it away, even now, I still have the urge to stay completely still and quiet whenever I see a rainbow - the power of nature eh!!!
