When I was little, I believed that I had the power to control the wind. Later in college, I confided in a friend about it. She told me she used to believe the same thing. "You know what?" I said, "I stil kinda believe I do." She smiled at me and said "Me, too."

We've been best friends ever since.

When I was in first grade(1959-1960), we had a hurricane hit Massachussetts. I was watching the T.V. weatherman who kept talking about the "eye" of the storm. I believed it was an actual big eye! And I was so scared to go into the bathroom, because I thought there would be this big eye looking at me through the bathroom window. I was in and out of the bathroom so fast!

I used to think that clouds would part over roads during snow storms. The clouds around the edges of the holes would group together and snow more, therefore creating the big piles of snow along the roads

When I was 4 or 5 there was a stormy night where my mom got us up out of bed to take shelter. She turned on the radio and they were saying "This is a tornado warning." I figured that a tornado warning was the authorities warning the tornado that it better not come into our city.

As a child I used to think that clouds were big pillows of white fluff and that was why fireworks night was never on when it was cloudy because it would set the sky on fire. The concept of someone accidentally burning the clouds scared me because I knew the firemen's ladders wouldn't reach that high up and I thought the fire would just keep going till bits of burning cloud fell out of the sky. My imagination was quite vivid like that!
