As a child, when it rained I used to think someone had had forgot to turn off the faucet left the water running, in heaven.
I once knew a girl who used to believe that the sun was actaully a really bright gold fish very high up.
Thanks to an older cousin, I used to believe that tornadoes were alive and could actually see us, so that’s why we had to hide in a hallway without windows during tornado drills in elementary school.
I used to believe that I could control the wind.
When I was younger, I used to look out of the window of our car and see the Sun. Wherever we went, we could still see the Sun, and as a result I believed that the Sun was following us.
We were always told that lightning was God's fireworks; no fear to be had. Like then, still love a good lightning storm.
I used to believe that tornados only happened in North America.
When I was young, I used to believe that clouds were made of cotton
When I was a child, I used to believe that when there was a storm it was because God was angry.
I used to believe that if I could somehow get the window of the aeroplane open, I would be able to jump up and down on the clouds which I imagined would feel like cotton wool.
i used to think tha if you went outside when it was acid raining the rain would burn holes in your skin
I also used to believe that the song "Rain Rain, Go Away," could actually make the rain go away if sung enough times! Many were the times when I would stand by the window, dutifully, singing "Rain rain, go away, come again another day. All the children want to play... Rain rain, go away," etc. When the rain stopped, I used to think it was because of my singing "Rain Rain, Go Away." In my defence, I was only five at the time!
I used to believe rain were God's tears
When I was little, I thought that clouds were made by someone spraying white spray paint onto air.
When I was about the age of 3, I was deathly afraid of leaves. Whenever my mom took me to the supermarket I'd start shrieking and be really freaked out, because I didn't understand the blowing wind was moving the leaves, I thought they were actually alive and wanted to get me.
I used to believe that rainbows were like the Lottery. Every rainbow was supposed to have a pot of gold at the end of it and I always wondered whose yard it landed in after it rained.
When I was younger I used to think that because the sun was made of fire, the moon was the opposite and was made of ice because of its colour sometimes, and I thought that when it rained, it was the moon melting!
when I was young I used to think that whatever shape you saw in the clouds was something that used to live and heaven formed its shape in the sky so people could remember.
Trains ran past the Hudson River that I lived near as a boy-- they still do, in fact. I always used to think that clouds were a product of pollution-- that the trains puffed smoke and steam, which stayed up in the sky to form clouds. I asked my mum about this, and she agreed with me.
I at the time was very proud of myself-- I'd figured out a force of nature, and was thereby smarter than all of the kids in my class. When my teacher asked said class about clouds-- and what they were, I immediately raised my hand and stated my theory on cloud production.
Needless to say, I didn't believe her for the longest time, 'cos my mum told me I was right.
i used to think if you stared long enough at the sun (until it looked blue) you could kill it
