When I was about 7 my brother who was in preschool told me that in school he ran over a rainbow. I believed him and I couldn't wait for it to rain so I could "make a rainbow." Really he had just gone down a slide and pretended it was a rainbow.
I used to believe, sun moves when nobody is looking. And the sun psyches the observer into thinking something and not notice his movements (I guess my grand mother told me this as she couldn't answer my many questions).
On many evenings, I used to sit in the balcony determined to catch a setting sun but in the process invariably used to be distracted by some thought or the other and the next time I look the sun is already a foot below from where he was when I started. As I woudn't notice I spent so much time thinking something else, i used to think he moved all that distance at my momentary distraction.
After many trials, I gave up thinking it's a human limitation and sun always manages to move when nobody is looking. Similar to the deceiving rains. I knew when it rains it doesn't rain everywhere in the world. So, i used to think, there has to be a place where the rain ends and because nobody i knew had seen such a thing, this always happens when nobody is around.
I used to believe that the Sun is real scorching hot on Sundays than on the other days of the week and somehow since i used to play cricket outdoor only on sundays, i used to feel the sun and my belief was there till i reached 8th grade..
I used to beleive that some day i would get to the end of the rainbow.
I used to believe that when there was thunder it was because God was moving furniture around his house and it was raining because God was moping and he dumped his dirty water outside of His house.
I used to believe that the weather had to do with GOD's mood. So if it was raining, GOD was mad. If it was sunny, GOD was happy. If it was stormy, HE was angry.
my friends little brother still believes that rainbows form because god is so happy when the rain dries up that he makes colors in the sky.
I used to believe that to make it rain God turns on a lot of bath showers that were in the clouds. (I would even imagine God quickly turing hundreds of showers to make rain!)
When I was young, I thought I could touch the clouds by climbing to the top of the jungle-gym.
I believed that the weather was always the same throughout the world. So, if it was raining where I lived then it was raining everywhere else.
I always thought there were 2 seasons in a year. There was summer, that lasted 3 months, and winter, which was the remaining 9 months.
I used to believe that clouds were made by the white smoke that came out of jets up high in the sky.
I used to believe that in winter, we didn't have any clouds i nthe sky so much of the time because if we had clouds, it would cover up the sun and we would be even MORE cold than we should be and would die.
I used to think if you walk far enough to the rainbow, there will be pot of gold
I used to believe that when it rained, GOD was peeing, and when it thundered, GOD was angry.
I thought that power stations made clouds, that was their only job and that's the only reason we had clouds.
I used to believe that Global Warming (aka greenhouse gases) were actually caused by greenhouses. I saw a greenhouse in a movie and I shouted Greenhouse Gasses! I got strange looks from people in the audience.
when I was a kid used to believe that the clouds were made of cotton
I used to believe that when a cloud is very white there is where the angels live.
When I was a child I used to believe that when it rained God was sad.
