I had a dream that I confused with real life that an umbrella could keep me aloft for a very long time while walking down the street (we're talking like twenty feet.) I'm pretty sure I tried while awake and just thought there wasn't enough wind.

When I was a kid, my parents called ice cream trucks "music trucks". They didn't want me to know that the trucks sold ice cream, 'cause they knew I would be demanding ice cream whenever I heard the trucks driving by. I eventually caught on that the trucks sold ice cream and weren't driving around the neighborhood for the sole purpose of playing music. But to this day I still call ice cream trucks "music trucks", and people look at me weird.

When I was young I thought that VOTING was actually BOATING. One November I went with my mom to vote, and I was being bad during the ride over, so she threatened to leave me outside. "But Mom, who is going to watch and make sure I don't fall in!"
I use to think whenever we drove past property that had signs saying "commercial property", that was where commercials were made.

I used to believe that all English fire trucks all had their own individual names!
What made this even more special was that i was forever seeing the same one, embarressingly it wasn't untill my now husband pointed out that "DENNIS" was in fact the name of the company that made them!!!!!!<---CRINGE-------->
When my dad was a little kid, every time he wanted to ride one of those pony things outside of the grocery store, his parents would tell him about all the kids that got electricuted on them.
When the mosquito truck comes through our neighborhood, my son and I dash inside. We did this for several years before my son realized the truck was killing mosquitos -- not spitting them out at us.
When I was about 5 or so, my good friend (same age) and I used to play this game called "Pie Pie". It involved us trying to unscrew the manhole cover near the bottom of my neighbor's driveway with my plastic tool toys. I don't know why we named it Pie Pie; we could have possibly been trying to pronounce "Popeye". Anyways, I thought that below the manhole there would be a world of dinosaurs while my friend thought there'd be a lot of hot women. Needless to say, we never managed to open it. My dad still likes to joke with me about this.

When I was little i always wondered where those little alligator's on little boy Izod shirts came from. I asked my brother, and he told me the ice cream man. It wasnt until a few years ago that I realized he just tricked me!
my nana told us that if we didn't jump off of the escalator at the top or bottom, we would get sucked right into it along with the stairs.
When my friend was young his mum and dad told him that when u hear the ice cream van man playing his tinkly music, that meant that he'd run out of ice cream!
Poor boy couldnt got really dissapointed every time he heard it "oh no hes run out again...."
My parents are evil. You know when the ice-cream van plays that really annoying song? That means that it's run out of ice-cream. I bear the mental scars to this day.
We once lived near a drive-in cinema, we could see the screen from our front porch. I never understood why people would pay to see a movie without sound. In addition to that I was frightened to look at the screen in case they caught me watching without paying.
Across the road from where I lived as a kid there was a house with a giant white concrete wall out the front. In this wall they had placed rows and rows of sectioned earthenware pipes perpendicular to the wall, in all there were about six rows of twenty pipe sections. This created a cheesy quasi Spanish effect and the whole neighbourhood quietly laughed about it. My mum once joked that they often went on holiday and built that wall so their mailbox wouldn't clog up every time they delivered the local paper, I missed the humour and totally believed this. Just this year I moved to a house near this wall and while driving past with my girlfriend I *almost* said, "hey, there's the wall of the people who always go on holiday".
I used to think that an "in ground pool" was a pool that you had to go down into the ground to get to, like in a cave.
