I used to think that the very large electricity pole across the street from my bedroom window would suck me out the window and hand me off to a dump truck that was flying by in the sky. Then the dump truck would fly higher and higher and drop me on the ground, splat!

I used to believe that pebble-dashed houses were pebble-dashed because the world used to be all sea, and when the sea came down it left all the sand and pebbles stuck to the side of the houses. Until I was about twelve.

I used to believe that "help wanted" signs meant that someone had robbed the store very recently and needed help trying to catch the thief.

There is a building that I would go past often when I was little, and on the side it says Whale E. Electric with a picture of a whale next to it. Most kids my age thought it was an aquarium with a whale in it, but I thought it was filled with red and blue whale shaped sponges. I have no idea how I came up with that one.

when i was little.. i used to try not to step on the cracks.. cause i seriously thought i would break my moms back.. it was sad.. still to this day i am parinoid i try not to step on cracks in the sidewalk

I rember one time when i was six.I was at the swimming pool with my dad and he sai that while i was wimming i went so fast all you could see was the blue of my swim suit

I used to believe that street lights had genders and personalities.

Because street lights come in differently designed poles and lamps, I always imagined lights in one neighborhood being happy, lights in others being sad, ecstatic, disgruntled, surprised, tranquil, etc. Depending on the pole, the light would be either male, female, or sometimes unisex.

When I was about 7, I thought the red front doors of my sister's high school meant that firetrucks were stored inside, and the firetrucks would come down the 20 or so steps of the building anytime there was a fire. I proudly told this to a visitor we were showing around town and my entire family stared at me like I was a total loon.

i remember an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark where there was this nasty hairy slimey monster in a pool that drowned people, and from the time i saw it til i was about 13 i would never go to the middle of a pool no matter how deep it was for any reason. not even with a group of people.

my afterschool teacher(who held afterschool at her home) told all the kids that she put a chemical in the pool the reacts when you pee in the pool be forming a red trail behind you. i was always so scared to go swimming because i thought i might accidently leak urine into the pool. every 5 seconds i looked behind me and one time i was just seeing things but i thought i saw the red trail and started crying because i thought i peed in the pool and didnt know it

My sister and I used to believe that the power polls were monsters, so on road trips we would dive behind the backseat, while my brother protected us.

When I was little I was terrified of the garbage truck. I believed if it saw me the big long arm that grabbed the trash can was going to come and grab me and throw me away!
