I used to think that the flea market was a place where you can by fleas. I imagined jars swarming with fleas and I wondered why anyone would want them.

I remember when I was about four or five, my mother used to take me to the local swimming pool back home in Finland, and the swimming pool floor had black and white tiles. I thought the black tiles were whales and if I stepped on one of them they'd eat me!

To stop me asking for a icecream each time the icecream van visited my local neighbourhood my mother used to tell me that when the van was playing music it ment that the icecream van was out of icecream.

I believed that all the McDonalds characters lived and worked at McDonalds. I thought birdie and hamburgler ducked behind the counter handing the cashiers the ketchup packets. Then Ronald was in the back with the purple guy telling all the workers what to do.

Really not sure where to put this...

I used to believe that angels lived in the streetlights, because when I walked home after dark so the streetlights were on, I used to squint my eyes so the light went out to all directions and I thought they looked like angels.

When I was a child, I saw a video of a building falling down and I really believed that ALL buildings fell down. A few years later we went to a city with lots of tall buildings and I was terrified because I was convinced that at any minute they would fall down. I was also confused that all the foolish people walking on the streets and driving in the cars wouldn't the least bit afraid.

When I was little, I believed that the grocery store was just a gigantic pantry that you went to get things to fill your house pantry with. I didn't realize that my parents paid for the stuff, so on one of the trips to the store, I took a candy bar and began to eat it.....Boy did I get in trouble!

When I was younger, I always thought (for some reason) that when the sign for a service station said 'Not 24 hours', it meant that it didn't take 24 hours to get there (and the ones that didn't say that did take 24 hours to get there, I suppose).

One day while I was in the car with my Dad, I pointed it out to him, and he asked me if I knew what it meant. I said yes, so he asked me what, and I was about to say what I thought, when I suddenly realised it meant that the service stations weren't open 24 hours.

So I quickly said that, and never told him what I really believed.

When I was younger and I heard about that there where strange things happening at area 51. I thought that ice cream vans where made. lol

When I wad younger, there was a saying "If you step on a crack you'll break your mother's back". I really did belive that thos was true, I use to imagine this happening. So for a very long time, I wouldn't step on any crack in the sidewalk.

When I was little, if we drove past a carnival I would always beg to go on the rides. My parents told me that it wasn't open...that they were just testing the lights. :(

When I was around 3 I remember watching the garbage men come down the street and seeing them throw everything in the back of their truck. I beleived if my Brother and I stood near the front yard they would throw us in there as well. I remember hiding under the front porch every time they came and refusing to come out until they were long gone.

when i was young i once took a trip to disneyworld with my family. when we went on "its a small word" i thought that the singing was the people on the boat singing. i sat next to my dad, who always sings along to everything, so hearing him sing along comfirmed my belief. i though i would get in trouble if i didnt sing so i tried my best, but really messed it up cuz i didnt know the words. i seriously thought the secerity was going to come after me.

I used to believe that streetlights were positioned along roads in such a way that they made lit up pictures that you could see from the sky at night!!

when my family used to go camping with playgroup to faiser national park in vic, they had a big van painted to look like a cow and a horn that was a moo but cos he came from the top of the hill i thought he came from the moon. he was the moo man but i thought he was the MOON man.

When I was little my mom would tell me that if the ice-cream man came down the street with his music blasting it meant that he was out of ice-cream and just warning the people not to come out and try to order any. I believed her for a long time and was deprived of many a summer night without my astropop!
