I used to be in a girl guides troop which had a hut behind a petrol station . Because the petrol station had a sign outside with BP written on it i thought the BP sign outside petrol stations stood for Baden-Powell.

when i was little I thought jiffylube was a place that sells juice. but one day when me and my older cousin were in the car, he said he was thirsty and I said why dont we get something to drink at jiffylube? he looked at me really strangly

I live in a neighborhood with stranger security watch.(if an unidentified vehichle or person came, we would have the right to prosicute them.) back then i thought "prosicute" meant "exicute," so every time i saw a vehichle that i didn't recognize, i thought somebody would charge at them with a big ax, trying to cut off their head.

I used to belive that if you didn't step off of an escalator carefully, the teeth would grab your foot and pull you down inside it.

I used to think the store WHSmiths (pronounced double u H Smiths) was called Wuh-smiths. I always wondered where my parents meant when they were talking about going to "double u H Smiths".

When I was a kid I believed that each house with a streetlight outside of it had a switch in the house for the owner to turn on the light. If the light wasn't on that night, they must have forgotten to turn on their streetlight.

I was swimming in my pool when I accidentally touched the floating chlorine buoy. I was so terrified that I was going to die of chlorine overexposure that my parents had told me about and that if I died in my sleep, vultures would come eat me up.

I can understand that chlorine part, but I still don't know where the vultures part came from.

I live in a neighborhood called Queen Anne and when I was younger and I used to take walks with my parents I would stop at every single house to try to see if I could see the Queen through the window.

I thought when I was a child that when adults put mail in mailboxes that the mail traveled under ground right to the other person's mail box. :)

When i was younger i saw the movie "The Ice Cream Man" and that really freaked me out, because i thought if i went to go get ice cream he would kidnapp me and kill me.So whenever the ice cream truck came around i would scream and then run and hide until he was gone.

My dad is over six foot high so when I was about four my walking pace couldnt keep up with him. In a bid to hurry me along he told me that street lights would zap me like the lasers in Star Trek if I stayed under them for too long. Soon after at night I could be seen legging it as fast as I could and leaping past any blinking streetlights as I thought they were just getting ready to zap!

My family and I always went to the same pool growing up, and it was the kind where you have to shower before getting into the pool. I thougth the shower water put a protective shield on us, so we wouldn't melt because of the chlorine.

We went to the Holy Land when I was about ten and I thought we were going to see "The Dead Sea Squirrels." I was disappointed because I didn't see any.

When I was little i used to believe if you go in the middle of the pool you'd get sucked in by a vortex and be put into another dimension.

When I was 11 or so I saw a sign on a flower pot outside a shop that said no butts please. I interperted this as you weren't supposed to sit on it. I thought the wording was very funny

I didn't know how rollercoasters worked, so I thought that in order to stay upright on the track, the riders would have to bang on the sides of the cars with hammers at the right times to maintain balance. On my first trip to a theme park, I made everyone laugh by asking when we would get our hammers...I had been mentally preparing myself for the task since I found out we were going.

When I was younger, and when I went to a swimming pool, I noticed how one side of the pool was 3 feet and the other end was 6 feet. I always thought the people who worked at the pool put something special in the water so some of the water would go to one side and a lot of water would go to the other side. Later in life I realized that the person to installed the pool dug one side of the pool deeper then the other!
