This one belongs to my friend, April.

Where there are building sites there are often big signs saying 'plant crossing' - for years I looked for trees, bushes, flowers to cross the road but it never happened....

When I was child, I used to be afraid of staying alone in the swimming pool, because I thought that a shark would appear there and kill me.
My 5 year old sister became terribly excited while we were out shopping, and went running over to this man shouting " a man shaving a window !".
I think she made the day of the window cleaner who was using a squeegee to clean suds from the shop window.
Now I can't stop imagining hairy shop windows, that need to be regularly shaved.
I used to believe that there was an operating theatre in the toy shop and in my dad's work car park! I'd recenttly been in hospital and the cupboards in both these plasces had similar doors to that of an operating theatre!
Whenever we were on a log ride I always thought that there was no track that led down the highest drop and you were free falling for about 50 feet or so. I was always really scared thinking we would turn over and either fall into the water or fly out and hit something hard and die a painful death.
my mam always said be careful on "The main road" referring to a busy road near our house called Station Road. I thought this was the main road from which all other roads in the whole world began!

I used to think when we moved, it was because we were exchanging our house with the buyer's...
The house I grew up in when I was young had a sewer cover at the end of the driveway. I used to think that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles lived down there, so I would stomp on it everyday while waiting for the bus hoping that they would bust out and say, "Turtle Power!!"
I used to believe that the divots in the road before you get to a toll booth were little trolls under the road drilling with jackhammers up at us because they were mad we were making all that noise....
i used to belive that when you walk across three drains its bad luck so i awlays go sround the drains!!
My father used to say that the water towers contained soup for people in the hospitals. Plus some of them were big onion shaped tanks- very intuitive of them to contain soup inside. And of course, I believed it at first being the gullible child I was.
Whenever my mother and I were driving home she would make whining noises that she pretended were the road we lived on asking me to make it breakfast. No matter what time of day it was I would pretend to make toast and orange juice and bacon and then throw it out the back window. For some reason I wound up thinking that bacon was called cheltenham because that was the name of the road I lived on.
Whenever an Ice Cream van went past playing loud music my parents told me that the ice cream man was playing an alarm to everybody meaning he had run out of ice cream!!! Now I'm 23 and use that one myself!!!
I used to think there was a whole world under the escalators at the mall. I worried that I might slip through it each time that I stepped on. But, if I did, I thought maybe it won't be so bad since there is that other world under there.
While driving across the fine state of Minnesota with my mother and grand mother I caught site of a watertower that had sometype of funny face painted on it. About an hour later i noticed another water tower (mind you this was 70 miles down the road) that didnt have the face painted on it. When i pointed it out to my mom she told me "no nobody repainted it honey its a different watertower." I was sent into shock and utter amazement that Minnesota had not one but TWO water towers. I still remember telling my grandma that they must drink a LOT of water up here!!
I used to think that the cat's eyes on the road were actually real cat's eyes.I thought that they were there to keep you driving on the right side of the road as they would get sqashed and be really yucky if you ran over them.
