When i was 5 my brother told me that water towers were filled with bees and wasps. so that poeple could get honey whenever they wanted

My family used to go to Asian restaurants a lot, and I always believed the fortunes would come true! So I saved them all and stored them in a cigarrete compartment in our car (no one in my family smokes). That way, when I really needed luck, I could pull one out! I forgot to take them out later, so whoever bought our car must have been pretty surprised...

I used to believe that inside each streetlight there was a little stick-like person called a magic-doom. i thought that thye lived in there and that they would turn the lights on and off for us.

I also thought that they would jump out at night with parachutes and play games all through the night.

My dad and my nephew play this game called "Gotcha" where they try to fool each other with things and then say, after they've had enough fun, "Gotcha!" My dad told my nephew that the BB & T bank (British Banking and Trust) was Bacon Bits & Tomatos Bank because that was the guy that owned the banks favorite food but that they named it BB & T because noone would bank at a place called Bacon Bits & Tomatos. My nephew believed my dad for months and even told teachers and other kids at school the stupid story. Finally, I told dad what my nephew was saying in public and that he sounded stupid and that he needed to say "Gotcha". Finally, dad did.

When my brother and I were about 5 and 7 years old, we were stuck in a traffic jam near a retail park where there was a branch of B&Q. I decided to tell my gullible younger brother that B&Q stood for "Be Queen". He believed it until he was about 8 years old!

When i was younger i used to believe that the black market was a physical marketplace just outside the city centre

I was always confused as to why the ploice just didn't go down there.

I honestly used to beleive that there was a chain of shops around the country called 'antiques', and they seemed to be inevery town or village we went to. On a separate note, i also used to think it was pronounced 'anticues'

When I was little, my older brother told me the water that comes out of your goggles when you take them off after swimming was eyeball juice that the goggles sucked out of your eyes. I was scared to put on goggles for weeks.

When I was around five or six years old I discovered that putting my private parts near the place in the pool where water came out felt really good. I didn't understand it. I somehow thought that I was refilling my bladder. One day, I had been doing that for a while when my Mom asked what I was doing. I said "nothing." My mom then whispered something to her friend. It was not until about 6 years later that I discovered that what I had been doing was called "masturbation." I then remembered that incident and was horrified to know that I had been masturbating in public and that my mother and her friend knew about it.

when i was young, i used to believe that clothes and shoes grow smaller over time when my mom said to me 'this is too small for you now, we bought it last year'.

I Used to Believe that when you wear new shoes, the people would laugh at you and try to trip you, so thats why when I was younger, i never wanted new shoes!!

I was convinced by my aunt that ALL the clothes in shops are tried on by either customers, or the assistants in the shop so if we get clothes we have to wash them twice before wearing them to clean all the dirt them left in it. i used to run the bath tub and wash the new clothes with shampoo, then dry them with a hair dryer. I stopped believing this when I ruined a really expensive only-dry-cleanable dress that I was suppose to wear to a wedding when I was 11.

When I was in kindergarten, my teacher told us that spring was right around the corner. So, when I got home, I looked around the corner of our house and was very disappointed that I did not see spring.

I remember when i was very little, about 3, my cousin came over one day (she has VERY blonde hair), and her hair was all green. my mom said it was because she had gone swimming, and the chlorine caused her hair to turn that color. i was SO scared that my hair (which is brown) would also turn green if it ever touched the water in a pool, so for the longest time, i completely avoided going underwater. i had this fear for many years, and one day during swimming lessons when i was 5, a boy hugged me while we were still in the pool. when he did this, i toppled over, and my head got wet for the first time in years! i was traumatized and thought my hair would turn green instantly. i started crying so hysterically that the instructor let me leave early. what a childhood!

When I was growing up across from my house there was this old run-down building. I used to think that that building was where they invented words. I thought that they had meetings every Thursday night, and the members consisted of a group of 30 old men that raised their hands when they thought of a new word.
