When I took swimming lessons I thought that if I didn't flush the toilet after using it, the pool would open up and swallow me. I always flushed.

When I was little, my Mom told me that the truck that goes down the street in the summer was a "music truck," Later I came up and told her:
"Mommy guess what, the music truck delivers *ice cream.* (It was really an ice cream truck.)

when I was little my parents took me to a National Park with lots of waterfalls, as each waterfall had a name I asked my dad for the name of one particular waterfall and he told me that the name was "the one that eats all Silvias" (that's my name) so there was NO WAY for me to go closer to the waterfall, for years I thought of the danger I was in, 'cause if I didn't know the name of the waterfall and actually gone close or touched the water I could have been eaten by the waterfall.

I used to believe when you moved house they took your house out of the ground and strapped it to a car so you could take wherever you wanted to.

i used to believe that water towers were huge robots, and to activate them you had to turn the gauge... but then everyoe would have no water, because it would have been carried away in the robots!

When I was around 6 years old, I lost my knitted winter cap in a department store while I was there with my Mother. Two weeks later, we came back to the store, and the escalator was all taken apart. My mom told me not to ask anyone if they had seen my cap because it had been pulled down into the escalator and gotten caught and we'd have to pay for the escalator repairs. I guess I had more presence of mind at the time because I didn't believe it but I thought SHE did.

When I was little I used to have the habit of sticking my hand up inside vending machines, trying to reach the candy.
One day my mom told me that I shouldn't stick my arm up into the machine, because there were little men inside who dispensed the candy, and if I put my arm up inside far enough, they would grab me, pull me in, and I would forever spend my life as a vending machine worker.
To this day (I'm 22 now) I still have to get someone to reach into the vending machine pockets to fish out whatever I purchase.

When I was eight, I used to think that a lady who lived a few doors down from my Grandma was insane.

Grandma lives in this apartment building only for old people. It had eleven floors and Grandmda lived in apartment 901, so you can guess how huge it was, especially to an eight-year-old

Anyway, this lady would crank up her TV really loud, and whenever you would go past her door, you could hear her screaming stuff. Sometimes, you could hear her screaming stuff at Bob Barker early in the morning.

One time, I was messing around the house while Grandma was cooking dinner. Since Cabin Fever was settling in, she told me to "entertain myself". Since Grandma was sixty-something, there wasn't much to do that was exactly thrilling. So, I decided to stare out of the little peephole in Grandma's door. After staring for several minutes, I was horrified when I saw this old lady coming down the hall way, staring into all of the peepholes. Needless to say, Grandma had a hard time convincing me to unlock the bathroom door and come out.

When I was about six i always thought that if someone was moving they were going to trade houses with someone else that was moving. Then i had the question, what if no one else was moving? Who would they trade with?

I used to believe that if I went down the bottom of the hill to the pedestrian underpass near where I lived that the punk-rockers would get me.

Then again, they probably would have you know...

one day, i was in a museum with my parents, and i accidently touched one of the paintings. a guard came over and told me not 2 touch them, and I thought that they weren't supposed to be touched because they were still drying!i couldn't understand why, since they had obviously been there for years !!!!!!

when I was little I was told that the Icecream truck was actually the dog catcher coming to take all the kids pets away,so I wound hide my dog every time we heard the music, I only found out the truth 4 years later.
